We had the good fortune of connecting with Kunle Owolabi and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kunle, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
Our business is based on creating more resources and tools for black creatives and black entrepreneurs. We believe that creativity is an undervalued skillset and our focus is connecting that skillset with sustainability. More specifically, we believe in strengthening the black community by creating and providing opportunities that may not fit into the traditional pathway

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Our business is significant because of our angle. Everyone on our team is both a creative in their personal lives, while working in some capacity in traditional corporate roles. This balances gives us the understanding of the challenges creatives face within the struggles of trying to sustain life while being passionate about other things. Our purpose has never changed but as we’ve grown, both individually and collectively, we’ve recognized how we can improve and evolve our mission to maximize our effectiveness. Our biggest challenge was our identity. We knew what we wanted to do, but we weren’t sure how to get there. Now, we function as a modern day marketing firm, but our take on creating visibility is elevated from our creative backgrounds. I don’t want to get into much detail with that or we’ll give away all of our secrets.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well I’m originally from Chicago, but I’ve been in Atlanta long enough to find a few hidden gems. I’d start the day with any one of the many brunch spots in the area. Then we’d go to Lenox Mall because you’re bound to see something interesting. Next we’d have to go to Slutty Vegan, because everyone should experience that at least once in their life, plus…support black business. Cap the night off with drinks and dessert at one of the many restaurants at Atlantic Station. The ambiance in that area is great as well. I’m sure there are plenty of spots I’m forgetting but that would be a pretty great time in Atlanta.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My entire team deserves a shoutout! My entire team is extremely talented and passionate about the work we do and have been doing for the last 6 years. Terri, our director of operations is also a published photographer. Our Brand Development Manager, Shelby, is currently working on her Masters degree while keeping our social media pages active. Our Brand Strategist, Reeka, has helped elevate our branding to what we’ve always envisioned all the way from Barbados. And our Director of Communications keeps getting promoted in the corporate world and still manages to type up all of our contracts, emails, and proposals. Our entire team is deserving of all of the shoutouts.
