We had the good fortune of connecting with Krystal Kelley and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Krystal, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Being authentically and unapologetically myself. Taking constructive criticism and making it work for my brand.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a middle school dance instructor! And i love my profession. My children make my day. Seeing them get excited because a once difficult dance move is now attainable… priceless. I attended Fayetteville State University for my BS in health and physical education and it was not easy. I actually changed my major twice, which put me back a couple years. The most valuable lesson I’ve learned is “people will talk about you… let them, and continue on your journey .” My brand is about being all of yourself. Quirky, fun, dark, girly, silly and unique. Embrace all of you, not just what you think people want to see.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
A week in Fayetteville, hmm, I would say Uptown Chicken and waffles for a breakfast and or dinner date. Allure and Vluxx hookah for a lounge vibe. Halo for your night life club needs. For nails and toes, Luxe!! They just do you right! Longhorn Steak house for the best steaks cooked to your ideal perfection. Cross creek mall for light shopping and entertainment! And Defy Gravity for your inner child to go and be a kid!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to thank JT, photographer, for seeing my potential as an aspiring MUA, and encouraging me to do other faces besides my own. Honestly i was nervous to do other faces but his ability to make me comfortable by using his models to work with, made it worth while.
