We had the good fortune of connecting with Kristy Arrington and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kristy, how does your business help the community?
Krowned by Kristy, LLC is a business that is all about pageantry including wardrobe consultation (Krowned Kloset Boutique), pageant coaching/consultation, and now the State Director for the Miss Black Mississippi USA Pageant, the preliminary to the Miss Black USA Pageant. Krowned by Kristy. LLC has styled and worked with various organizations including Miss America, United States of America Miss Pageant, Miss Black USA, and collegiate and local competitions. This organization impacts the community in various ways including helping women of all ages, shades, and shapes to become the best version of themselves in this society and rewrite HERstory. Krowned by Kristy, LLC was birthed from many years of competition and representation of Mississippi on national, local, and collegiate stages.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Krowned by Kristy, LLC is a one-stop shop for all pageantry needs. This business provides consultation to pageant contestants and directors, fashionable wardrobe pieces (from the interview room to evening gown), and state directorship of a preliminary state pageant that competes on the national stage annually. It was birthed from the opportunity to compete and grow in the industry in 2012. What sets this business apart from other companies is the ability to connect with each contestant, director, or fashionista locally, nationally, and globally. I love what I do and believe this is my ministry and purpose to society,

Starting, I became a consultant after being asked by other young ladies within the state of Mississippi to assist them with their competitions on the local and collegiate levels. From that experience, I gained little sister Queens who represented their county/state and even campus titles well. I then took this to another level in 2020 by opening a boutique specifically for pageant contestants and queens to wear the most fashionable, winning pieces. To date, I’ve dressed young ladies who walked away with international, national, state, and local titles. Each of these experiences brings me joy and a fulfillment of my purpose. August 2021, I’ve decided to take the leap of faith to become the state director of the Miss Black Mississippi USA Pageant, a competition that I competed in and represented in 2017. To date, this has been the most liberating experience, to train up a group of young women to follow in their footsteps before them.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My husband, Robert Arrington Jr, mother, Sonja Haley, and aunt Sequitta Haley have been my greatest supporters.
