We had the good fortune of connecting with Kristian Epison and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kristian, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
At a young age I was always into photography; I was always the go-to family member or friend who would take everyone’s picture, so I knew then that photography was something that was a part of me. So, my thought process is simple; I wanted to continue to pursue something that has always been in my life since a child. Also, I wanted to be taken seriously so starting my business was the best step for me. This is just the beginning; I believe photography will take me to places and allow me to meet people that I could only imagine.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My photography busisness is very new, but my love for photography is not. I have loved photography since I could remember. For years I have wanted to start my busisness but I let things like fear, or the unknowingly stop me in my pursuit of that. But this past year I put fear aside and I decided to follow that dream of owning a photography business. I was inspired by others around me to go after what I love. I will say it’s not easy but if you take your time and do your research then it will happen. I want the world to know that no matter how old you are, no matter what your family and friends may say or if you think you don’t know what it takes to starting a business, just know that if others can do it then you can too.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I currently reside in Atlanta, GA and I’ve been here about 6 years now, If I had to choose a go to spot for amazing pictures, food, fun then I would Krog Street Tunnel for amazing pictures, the graffiti artwork is incredible. For an amazing food experience, I would definitely suggest Colony Square; the food and atmosphere is so Atlanta, and for fun interesting activities I would say Ponce City Market. They have shopping, food and fun all wrapped up in one, and the view from the rooftop is breathtaking.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to dedicate this to anyone pursuing a dream. No matter how long it takes or how hard it may be. It will happen for you if you believe in yourself and not listen to anyone who tries to darken your light.
