We had the good fortune of connecting with Kristen Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kristen, how do you think about risk?
Taking risks as a young entrepreneur was the best thing I could have ever done in my career. Starting out I was scared , nervous, and shy. It took me forever to come out and display my products to the world. I was scared thinking I would get shut down, people won’t like my products, or even laugh at me on live trying to showcase my designs. But, I decided in order for me to make this work and be heard I have to come out of my shell which was hard for me. I was like one of the worst conversations starters in history. But, I knew I had to risk everything I was afraid of in hopes of a better future for me and my family. So I started passing out flyers, I practiced customer talking points with friends, I made my products more appealing, and I even started setting up in local areas. The decision to do all those things was worth the risk when I began to see the benefits of it. I hear people say all the time , “I don’t think my business will be worth the necessary risk.” Let me tell you it is, If i had not stepped on faith and took those necessary risks I would be home missing out on all the life opportunities that was waiting for me. The award of taking business risk is well worth it long as you believe in yourself.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I have two businesses: My first business is Eyelash4Me-2 What sets me apart from other Businesses is the fact that I handmake and design my own line of lashes I mean like sowing them myself. I come up with the designs and put it it together so ladies get a variety of lashes they won’t find in stores. I am most proud of my reviews. Eyelash4Me-2 have over 200 5 star reviews and have trended on as #1 on Facebook last year. Then with all the networking I did with other business owners I started g&E PopUp Shop (Vendor’s Market) Which is a place where business owners can come out every Saturday and showcase their product. I would say Hustling, hard word, dedication, self motivation. and prayer is how I got to be where I am today. It was not easy, starting out I struggled with getting support from family and friends. I felt like people only saw me as the fun going person and I was never taken serious as a new business owner. So, I over it came it by changing my circle and and stayed dedicated to my life choice of starting business. I found myself changing into a brand new kind of me. Some of the lessons I learned along the way is never to mix business and friendships together. Another lesson I learned is it is best to invest in yourself so that only you have the power to turn the lights on or off on our business. My brand of lashes is designed to make women feel like the Queens they are with each lash being crafted to articulate any pair f eyes for the start or night of any day. My G&E Market Place is the perfect place for first time business owners to come out and display their products and feel welcomed and accepted among other business owners.

I started off selling my lashes onside the highway and sidewalks to being featured in 4 magazines and hosting one of the biggest marketplaces in Georgia. Never giveup and take that leap of faith and step into your excellence.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
