We had the good fortune of connecting with Kristen Moon and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kristen, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I have always been entrepreneurial. Going to work with a lunchbox in hand was never for me. I could also care less about job titles or climbing the corporate ladder. I wanted a career that impacted peoples’ lives, gave my work a purpose, and allowed me to spend time with my children.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Moon Prep consists of experienced counselors who guide students through the university admissions process. Our specialty is direct medical programs (BS/MD) and Medical School Admissions. We focus on an admissions strategy, not just adding a few commas to your personal statement. Students get one shot at admission – we understand that. We are your partner in this journey, your partner in success, and your partner in helping you land in the accepted pile at your dream school.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Atlanta is an amazing city; I love how it is so green! My favorite activities involve the outdoors. Whether it be biking the tree-lined path at the Silver Comet Trail, hiking at Kennesaw Mountain, or walking at Piedmont Park.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The counselors on my team are what make this business successful. They truly care about their students and are invested in their success.
