We had the good fortune of connecting with Kristen Jones and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kristen, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I never set out to be a business owner, but I felt led to obey God’s call. Moments by Marie was birthed out of serving my church, Spirit and Truth Church, and as doors began to open, I realized I had found my purpose. My journey has been about walking in obedience and trusting that God would guide me every step of the way.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Moments by Marie began as an act of obedience. I never set out to be a business owner—I simply served where I was planted, capturing behind-the-scenes moments for my church. But as I remained faithful, doors began to open. Over time, I realized this wasn’t just a passion; it was my purpose.

What sets Moments by Marie apart is the heart behind the lens. I don’t just capture moments; I capture meaning. Because I once played sports, I understand the emotions, the preparation, and the unspoken stories that unfold in every game. This allows me to create content that resonates with athletes beyond just highlights—it tells their story.

The journey hasn’t been easy. There were moments of uncertainty, times I questioned if I was equipped for this. But I’ve learned that when you walk in alignment with God’s plan, He provides. Proverbs 18:16 says, “A man’s gift makes room for him and brings him before great men,” and I’ve seen that promise come to life. The key has been serving with a pure heart, staying committed, and trusting the process.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that excellence is not just in the final product—it’s in how you serve, how you show up, and how you pour into others. I’m proud of the work I do, but more than that, I’m grateful for the impact it has. Whether it’s for churches, personal events, or athletes on the rise, Moments by Marie is about honoring every moment, big or small.

My vision is to expand more into the sports world, capturing the grit, faith, and drive behind every athlete’s journey. But at the core, this will always be about more than just content—it’s about purpose in motion.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Monday – Arrival & Unwind
Pick them up from the airport and grab a relaxed meal at C&S Seafood in the Cumberland Galleria—gotta start with some good seafood.
Chill night in, maybe some deep conversations and laughs over a movie or music.
Tuesday – Spa & Self-Care
A full day of relaxation at Intentional Moments Spa and Wellness Lounge in Duluth (because self-care is a must).
Afterward, something light to eat—maybe a healthy, refreshing meal or smoothies.
Wednesday – Explore & Enjoy
Take them to some local spots—maybe visit a museum, a scenic park, or find a good rooftop to vibe out.
Dinner at a nice, laid-back restaurant with a great atmosphere.
Thursday – Adventure & Fun
Depending on the vibe, we could do something adventurous like indoor skydiving, go-kart racing, or even a simple bowling night.
A casual dinner spot with good food and even better conversation.
Friday – Food & Fellowship
Brunch at a great local spot.
A little shopping or exploring a cool area in town.
A fun night out—nothing too wild, just good music, good vibes, and good company.
Saturday – Chill & Reflect
A slower morning, sleep in and cook brunch at the house.
Maybe hit a scenic walking trail.
Home-cooked dinner or a soulful meal to close out the week.
Sunday – Church & Good Eats
Church, of course! Got to make sure they get fed spiritually.
A big Sunday meal afterward—maybe a good Southern spot or somewhere we can sit, relax, and reflect on the week.
The goal? A balance of relaxation, good food, fun experiences, and moments that matter. Wouldn’t have it any other way!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give a huge shoutout to my family, my pastor, my friends, and my church family. Their love, support, and encouragement have played a major role in shaping my journey with Moments by Marie. From pouring into me spiritually to showing up and believing in my vision, they’ve been a constant reminder that I’m walking in God’s purpose. I’m beyond blessed to have them in my corner!
