Meet Krista Smith | Balloon Stylist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Krista Smith and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Krista, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
Two of my very favorite affirmations go as such: “The world needs who you were made to be” (ironically found on a keychain at the Silos in Waco) and “Always believe that something amazing is about to happen”-Coco Chanel. I truly believe that finding your path and following your gut instincts leads people into their true calling. My soul has always guided me into whatever creative opportunities I could get my hands on, and knowing that you are purposeful in that place makes people feel absolutely amazing. I also find that when things are the most difficult, I keep myself motivated by knowing that my next amazing moment is just around the bend!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Firstly, when I say that I love your parties, I absolutely mean it! My journey into the party industry came from an obsession with ALL of the little things. I strive to find and add-in the extra details that would make the average party-goer second glance, and the super fan gush over. Being a wife and mother of 3 daughters, I built this business with the intentions of being the most flexible with my time and still active in my children’s lives. Although I didn’t start from the beginning with balloons, it quickly became my most favorite way to add amazing design elements to our parties. Overall the topic everyone dreads the most is worth and pricing and initially I really began to struggle. Throughout the years, I fine-tuned my craft and became confident in the entire experience my clients were getting, and that is an amazing feeling! Being able to grow with my clients throughout their many different milestones has been such an unmatched moment for myself as a small business.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Our love of the trees and nature is what called us to Georgia! We live up near Lake Allatoona, and utilize it weekly. The serenity and peace you have just finding the perfect nook near the lake is just the best! We’ve adventured around Red Top Mountain State Park and absolutely love the trails and the views. Additionally our love for film has had us hunting around for fun movie locations! Heading down to Senoia to walk around all of the Walking Dead filming areas was way too fun! Especially eating at the delicious Nic and Norman’s Restaurant was the *chef’s kiss*

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Early on in my journey, I looked to the amazing balloon community to admire their successes and be inspired by their incredible creativity. So many strong, independent companies just killing it in the party industry had me hooked! I obsessed over incredible companies like Balloon Therapy out of Dallas, TX, and watched them become the mega success that they are today. Their ability to see outside of the balloon “box” if you will- fueled my creativity to think bigger than just a way in which to add balloons for a party- but rather a piece of art that people leave talking about.
