Meet Kovaski Jones | small business owner of a cleaning service and professional photagrapher

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kovaski Jones and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kovaski, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I have always wanted to own a business but I never knew what I wanted to do. My first business that I started was a cleaning service. I started this in the middle of a pandemic, I focused on Covid Disinfecting and it was extremely busy for me as you can imagine. I wanted to help people stay safe during this crazy time. But I really had a passion for photography, this is why I invested into purchasing camera equipment and started my business doing photography of all sorts, nature, events, weddings, headshots, etc. So my goal now is to help provide great memories for everyone and their families.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I have a Commercial Cleaning Service that focuses on keeping everyone safe from the Covid virus by disinfecting your home or business. This business is something that is needed with the times we are in. I have a passion for helping and this avenue was important to help the lives that matter around me. I also am a photographer that focuses on creating memories for individuals and families. I do events, weddings, head shots, and anything that will help created those lasting memories. What makes me so proud of what I do is to see the peace pf mind that helping families stay safe from the virus or giving a mother lasting memories with beautiful photos of her newborn child. When it came to getting to where I am today with the Covid disinfecting, it took hard work, promoting myself, offering discounts and even a few free services to gain the trust of clients. I had heavy competition with huge companies that are renowned. But once my work started to speak for itself, word of mouth started traveling and turned it into a good business. When it came to the photography, it moved way faster gaining new business. Instagram works wonders if you know how to use the hashtags. I had to learn that people really search thru hashtags for information. This helped my photos get tagged and used for promotion, which led to a lot of people reaching out.
The biggest lesson I have learned is to have patience, there will be slow days and weeks but you have to believe in your craft.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love the city of Atlanta, I am a true foodie so when family and friends visit, I always take them to some of my favorite spots to eat, grab a drink, or to a place that you just have to visit while here. my favorite places to eat are Porchlight Latin Kitchen in Smyrna, Sports and Social at the Battery, Rock Steady for drinks, or Bar Vegan for a nice Happy Hour. I will take them to some nice scenery like The Botanical Garden, or walk the Beltline.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to dedicate this to my two beautiful daughters, Jaslyn and Jaylee. They are my motivation, my reason, my light and why I want to be successful so they have a great life and to give them motivation to go after whatever they want to in life. My late mother made me want to do more in life. I learned that you never know when your time will come so I want to leave a lasting legacy. And a shout out to my family, my family means everything to me.
