Meet Kobeazy | Kobeazy Entertainment CEO

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kobeazy and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kobeazy, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I pursued an artistic career because I felt like growing up I was nothing without art. I’m a very outgoing , goofy & energetic type of person. Especially when I was younger , my mom would always tell me “You would make a great actor.” I would easily mimic anything I saw whether it was dancing , a voice impression, or singing, etc. Art is the best way for me to express who I am as a person and I feel like everyone has that one thing that allows them to feel safe & open. Being an artist does that for me.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
So I am an artist out of Dallas Tx known as Kobeazy. I am CEO of Kobeazy Entertainment. Now I don’t always like to use the term “artist.” An entertainer is what I typically call myself because I wear a lot of different hats. I am a singer , rapper , & choreographer. I also do graphic designs , club promoting a businessman, & a barber. I’ve also gotten into the producing side of music as well. What I want to do is continue to brand myself as an entertainer first and Kobeazy Entertainment also known as KBE becomes my label. Once I’ve reached that, I will sort of step back from that side and sit in the CEO chair to sign artists, focus on contracts , publishing deals , etc and allow that to take the business further and build an empire. I currently have an artist right now whose like a brother to me with the same type of feeling for the art of music as I do. I love it. So he will be the first one to get into the KBE family. He goes by NBT Nyce and the man is definitely nice with it.
What sets me apart in the entertainment industry is that I am so versatile and I have an old soul too. So I can do any type of music and any beat! I promise I will make a hit. Most are scared to come out of that box that others place them in because they are so comfortable but I’m just not like that. I dare to be different because there’s too many of the same.
So I am excited on just what the future will bring. I know there’s nothing I can’t do, once I put my mind to it I know that it will be done. So if I just keep putting my creativity out there and giving it my best I feel like the sky is the limit. More people will hear. More people will engage. More people will have no choice but to see and hear me. At that point doors and other opportunities begin to develop and you just never know where they might take you. So I’m excited for all there is to come!
How I got to where I am today is a very good question. It was definitely not easy. Especially dealing with different labels and money. So first of all this industry is not friendly. Everybody is out for themselves and even though we all are chasing the same thing, it’s more of a dog eat dog world. I had to learn that and I had to learn that the hard way. Not everybody is going to think like me or expect me to be a certain way because they are. It’s a lot of snakes out here with selfish intentions. My mentality is if I can help you and somebody else and still get paid, I’m doubling up. I’m making more helping two people then I am with just myself. I think people just don’t see the big picture therefore those bigger opportunities are missed out on and those people have just chosen to settle because it sounded good for the time being. That was something I learned overall but I also learned to not believe everything you see or hear because a person will feed you anything.
What I want the world to understand about me is just get use to the name Kobeazy.
If you never heard it before now, you will. I am a firm believer in my craft and I want to change the way the world thinks of the music industry. The music itself I’m speaking on. Music today , especially hiphop and even some R&B, there’s no meaning. It’s just words to a beat but nowadays you don’t even need the words. It’s just the beat that will get a crowd moving. What happened to when the lyrics mattered? The message that was being delivered? It’s like the world has lost the insight of what music is suppose to be. I want to change that. KBE is coming to take over & will.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Week long trip! Ok I would definitely have to set an itinerary for this. So for Monday we would probably go eat breakfast at Waffle House. Then probably go to the Galleria which is one of the biggest malls in Dallas Tx. After that probably would be nap time haha and then allow the day to guide us for the next eatery. Honestly Monday through Thursday would definitely be that type of schedule. Isn’t a whole lot that goes on beginning half of the week. So on Thursday after we’ve eaten, and napped, we would go to this spot called chill. It’s a bar and restaurant that has games in the back like pool table , basketball, etc. Very chill to end the night.
Friday we would go get breakfast at sun view cafe. Great food there then go check out the art museum. From there go eat again at a restaurant called Flatrock Smokehouse. Amazing. Then from there we would go to a lounge! Where they have great music , hookah, and just an overall great vibe.
Saturday if we are still alive , we would go get brunch at Snooze AM. Great mimosa spot. Followed by the aquarium. After that probably would go grab something light to eat like a regular fast food place because the evening plan going into the night would be to go to Sandaga 813. This place does live music played by a band , more like jazz and R&B.
Sunday would probably be a rest day. Sleep.
Some of the most fun places to be in Dallas though is mainly downtown. It’s the views and the rooftop bars that really just set the mood up for a great time.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Absolutely I’ve got PLENTY shoutouts. So first & foremost I want to give a shout-out to God for blessing me with this artistic gift because without him I am nothing. Shoutout to my mom for always believing me and keeping me encouraged. There was never a time she didn’t think I was able to accomplish something even though I had that look of doubt on my face because I didn’t fully believe in myself. So definitely my mom is the MVP. Shoutout to the KBE team that includes my manager , my videographer , my graphic designer , etc. Shoutout to Trunktight Records & last but not least shoutout to my friends group. I love them. They are my family too. I have received nothing but support since day 1 in addition to love and loyalty. I know if nobody else is on my side they will be. So definitely a huge heartfelt shoutout.
