Meet Kiyonte Carter | Model, Dancer, Actress

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kiyonte Carter and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kiyonte, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I pursued an artistic/creative career because I love expressing myself in many different ways, whether it’s beauty shoots with glam makeup, to strutting down the runway rocking amazing designs. I love the fact that I can also travel to different cities to pursue what I love and share it with people who are just as passionate about the craft. The whole aspect of the creative field makes my heart full because I get to see many expressions of myself that keeps evolving throughout my journey.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What set me apart from your typical model is that I am also very much myself. I am a goofy, fun, outgoing person that adds to an easy going environment while I’m working. I am most proud of the jobs I’ve done and the places I have traveled starting at a young age, which wasn’t easy because I didn’t always meet the requirements of of certain shows and jobs, so I had to use my talent and personality to get where I am now. Lessons I’ve learned is to not take any of it personally because they are looking for a specific type, which doesn’t mean I’m not good enough, it’s just not what they’re looking for. I want the world to know that I am a force to be reckoned with.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
For this week long trip I would take her to the best food spots in the city, from sound food, to Italian, to Chinese, the list goes on. Then I would take her to a few louges and aquariums. I’m sort of new to ATL so I’m still learning all the fun things to do.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to my parents. They are both very supportive in my creative career and have done more than I can imagine to help make it happen. I will forever appreciate them for everything they have done for me.
