We had the good fortune of connecting with Kita Bryant and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kita, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I wanted to create a space that I can tell people what life is really all about without all the fancy fluff that people use on social media. I also wanted to create a space so that my culture doesn’t die out.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am funny. I think my personality sets me apart. I don’t mean to be but people say I am. It’s not easy being behind the scenes people want to see more of me and I don’t want to be seen lol. It’s a complicated position to be in when you want to sell something without selling yourself. I am overcoming it one day at a time by showing pieces of me but it’s still hard. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned along the way is that no one is perfect and you have to have the right network for your networth to be anything. I want the world to know that I am just trying to be me. Navigate this life, raise some good kids, and just birghten someone’s day with laughter if I can.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We would definitely go to the botanical gardens. I would hire a chef to come and cook at the house though since it’s Rona going on lol but I think having a chef come to the house would give us some time to catch up without the noise or distraction of others. So botanical gardens maybe brunch at South City Kitchen then home to eat dinner with a chef. I would also throw in a photoshoot somewhere fun because I am a photographer we have to do that.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
So many people but I would have to say my late husband. He was the one who always cringed when I told the truth about things and his words were always Really Kita that’s why I named the blog It’s Really Kita. He deserves some credit for helping me buy my first camera, taking all the photos that I needed, and suffering through blog events with me lol.
