We had the good fortune of connecting with Kirri Coleman and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kirri, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
I believe The most important factor behind my success is the ability to remain relatable, humble and consistent. I don’t stand out just because I make fantastic food, or talk a good game, you can get that in a lot of places. I stand out because I am authentic. So many women look like me and from where I am from looks up to me. So I don’t hide my story. Sharing who I am through my brand is a success to me. It is important for me to continue to be A role model for so many young queens like myself. That includes never giving up and staying on a consistent schedule. No matter how tough the road to success was, I’ve always gotten through it and Being able to give that reassurance that to the next young entrepreneur “ that they will be successful “ is the important factor behind my success.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I Am Chef, a private chef, who owns a Private Dinning and eatery company. My company’s Name is Dish It With KC. Before Private Dining back in 2016 I would sell dinners. Cooking Has Always Been My First Love. I Never Saw Myself Doing Anything Else. It has always been my families Legacy passed down and I’ve just decided to take it to another Level. They Always Say” Make A Career Out Of Something You Love And You Will Never Have To Work A Day In YOUR Life”. So That’s Exactly What I Did. Back in 2016, I Started My First Cooking Business. I Sold Dinners From The Back Seat Of My Buick Lucerne And Named My Business ( Kirri’sKafe). Wasn’t No Shame In My Game, I Popped Up To Beauty Salons, Call Center Jobs, Barbershops and Homes! I promoted my self the best way I could l. I Was Bold And I Was About My Business . Most Of All, I Love What I Do. I am confident in the Meals I Create! The Joy and Happiness I Brung Upon Others While They Ate A Meal I Created Meant More To Me Than A Dollar Bill Could Ever! I Sold Dinners For 3 Years. It Became Hard At Times,Because I Was Moving Up And Becoming More Successful With What I Was Doing,A lot of people didn’t like that. There were People Trying To Call The State On Me,Reporting Me To Authorities because I didn’t have the correct credentials. Trying To Tear Me Down instead of helping me because They weren’t Happy With How I Was Doing and At Times it Made Me Want To Give Up And Go To Work For SomeOne Else Because It’s”Easier”. But I didn’t . I Pushed Harder and Became Smarter! I continued Selling My Dinners Every Friday Until I Raised Enough Money To Invest Into Something Bigger . I Took A Break From “Selling Dinners” And Began Working On My Dream Career( Private Dinning). I Wanted to Be 100% Legit and Educated This Time around ! No short cuts. I Wanted it Done Right So I Took My Time! I hired Business Coaches,Branding Coaches, took One on One Trainings With Some Of the Worlds Biggest and greatest Chefs and I Got Busy! I took the time I needed to bring out the BEAST in me! Now I Have Created That Something BIGGER! EST In 2019 And Rebranded 2020 I Am The OWNER, Founder & Head Master Chef Of My Very Own Personal Chef Company. “Dish It With KC” A full-service Private Dining and Eatery Company!  . Building Dish It With KC Has Not Been Easy, But I am extremely proud of what it has become. I Am Happy! I am doing what I Love!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best-friend came visit, I would most definitely take her to the best BBQ restaurant in the world. ATL Fusion BBQ. The owner is a great friend of mine and the food is delicious!
