We had the good fortune of connecting with KING DELPH and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi KING, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Over the years, I’ve created several businesses driven by a simple but powerful mindset: Why spend all my energy building someone else’s dream when I can build my own? I’ve always believed in taking ownership of my creativity and vision. My latest venture—a podcast titled YO SUN YOU SEE THIS—is really a continuation of the path I’ve been on for years. My first show, The Laundry Mat Show, debuted in 1998 and aired on Brooklyn Cable Access TV as well as in Raleigh, NC. That early experience laid the foundation for what I’m doing now. YO SUN YOU SEE THIS is a podcast-meets-talk-show format that features interviews and commentary centered around life, science, music, and culture. For me, starting a business is about taking control of your story and creating a platform that reflects your voice and passion.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My journey has always been rooted in creativity, culture, and community. I started as an artist and eventually expanded into owning a record label, restaurants, and recording studios. Music has been the heartbeat of my life for many years—it’s what shaped me, inspired me, and introduced me to the world. As the landscape changed, my independent TV show naturally evolved into a modern podcast and content platform.

What sets me apart is my consistency, versatility, and real connection to the culture. I’ve had the honor of interviewing legends like LL Cool J, Master P, Big Daddy Kane, Lil Wayne, T-Pain, Run DMC, Jadakiss, Swizz Beatz, and many more. These conversations aren’t just about fame—they’re about the stories, the grind, the growth, and the lessons behind the spotlight.

It hasn’t always been easy. I faced plenty of challenges—financial obstacles, industry politics, and moments where it felt like the odds were stacked against me. But I overcame them with resilience, a strong support system, and a deep belief in my vision. Every setback became a setup for the next level.

The biggest lesson I’ve learned is to stay true to your passion and never be afraid to pivot or evolve. My brand is about authenticity, hustle, and storytelling through the lens of music, life, and culture. I want the world to know that I’ve built my platform not just for myself, but for the people—to inspire, inform, and entertain with real voices and real stories.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Living in Atlanta means you’re surrounded by culture, flavor, and non-stop energy—so the options are endless. But first stop? Las Costas Nayaritas in Duluth. It’s hands down one of the best restaurants in the metro area—authentic Mexican seafood, full of flavor and vibes.

Day 1 (Tuesday): We’re kicking things off with Midtown Happy Hour at VODS ATL—Tuesday through Friday from 4 PM to 12 AM. It’s the ultimate afterwork vibe with an open bar, VIP booths, full kitchen, valet parking, and hookah. We’re talking grilled lamb chops, jerk burgers, jumbo shrimp, and more. Plus, each day has its own theme—Taco Tuesdays, Karaoke Wednesdays, Egg Roll Thursdays, and Seafood & Flights Fridays. After that, maybe a late-night lounge run or a chill rooftop spot.

Day 2: We’d explore Auburn Avenue and the MLK Jr. National Historical Park, then grab a soul food lunch at Busy Bee Café. That night, we’d hit Apache XLR for a live show, open mic, or poetry night—pure Atlanta energy.

Day 3: It’s all about daytime chill and nightlife fire. We’d do brunch at Breakfast at Barney’s, then hit the Atlanta BeltLine or Piedmont Park for some culture and people-watching. Afterward, we’re back at VODS ATL for another round of Happy Hour—it’s a must every night.

Day 4: Day trip out to Stone Mountain or Lake Lanier depending on the season. Then dinner at O-Ku Atlanta or Drawbar at the Bellyard Hotel. If the crew’s still going strong, we might catch a late-night set at Josephine Lounge.

Day 5: It’s the turn-up day—lunch at Slutty Vegan, shopping at Ponce City Market, then a big night out at Compound, Elleven45, or Revel. Drinks, music, and a city that never really sleeps.

Day 6: Time to decompress with a spa day at JeJu Sauna or Treat Your Feet, followed by a high-end dinner at Marcel or Two Urban Licks. Then we’ll vibe out one last time at VODS ATL if it’s still within that Tuesday–Friday window.

Day 7: Brunch at Atlanta Breakfast Club, then some last-minute shopping at Lenox Square or Shops at Buckhead before sending them off with great memories—and probably a plan to come back soon.

Atlanta’s got the flavor, the soul, and the vibe—and if you roll with me, you’ll get the full experience.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My support system starts with my immediate family, who have always been there for me through thick and thin. I also want to shout out my longtime friends and associates who stood by me when times were tough—those bonds mean everything. Most importantly, my children deserve special recognition. They are my greatest motivation and the driving force behind everything I do. Their presence pushes me to keep striving, growing, and building something meaningful.
