We had the good fortune of connecting with Kimberly K. Gallow and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kimberly K., we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The thought process behind starting KKG & Co. (a boutique consulting firm focusing on enhancing brands through innovation and strategy) while I was in college, was to help others develop and build their ideas into practical and solution-oriented outcomes. I learned early in college that consulting was a mere way to help others grow, develop, and enhance ideas.

What should our readers know about your business?
I’m Kimberly K. Gallow, founder of KKG & Co; where we cultivate business owners, entrepreneurs, and professionals to elevate their brands through innovative and unique strategies.

I launched this boutique consulting firm in 2015 while in college however legitimized it immediately after in 2016. As an eager college student wanting to immediately work for myself, I quickly realized that although I felt powerful with my firm, I needed to build credibility and learn more about business and industry. That led me to working in higher education where I was not only exposed to external constituents but also, organizational processes that have now, helped me develop best practices, strategics and approaches to organizational leadership.

Not one part of the process was easy. It’s still not easy now – juggling school, work, and consulting however it’s a part of my passion. I thoroughly enjoy helping others and even more, seeing them grow into full-time entrepreneurs.

My brand and my story are centered around helping others. I’m a servant leader and firm believer that without people, organizations cannot function. Even more, without effective and efficient people, organizations cannot grow. I pride myself on having clients that understand servant leadership. We build and develop teams both in and outside of the workplace.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
New Orleans is the city of festivals and food. There are “a ton” of festivals that take place yearly in New Orleans. A few of my favorite restaurants include: Neyow’s, Morrow’s, NOLA Caye, Dooky Chase, Vyonne’s, 14 Parishes, Pepperoni Ray’s, We Dat’s, and so many others.

Upon my best friend’s arrival, we would definitely visit a coffee shop. One in particular that is my personal favorite is Baldwin & Co on Elysian Fields. We would hang out and catch up before touring the city.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My parents have been believers of my radical ideas and have always supported my desires to continue my educational journey. Shoutout to them for always believing in me.
