We had the good fortune of connecting with Kimberly Haase and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kimberly, we’d love for you to start things off by telling us something about your industry that we and others not in the industry might be unaware of?
When it comes to senior healthcare, people rarely give this demographic group a thought. The number of adults aged 65 and older has increased since 2019, growing at a faster rate than the general national population. “Over the past five years, home care providers in the US industry have grown by 3.7%, reaching a revenue of $99 billion in 2019. In the same time frame, the number of businesses has increased by 3.3%.” The aging population’s preference for homecare instead of hospital stays are factors that make homecare a growing part of the health care sector. At iLoveKare, we believe that aging adults want to age in place. A place that they choose to grow old in. Our mission is to enable clients with physical, emotional, and mental capabilities that promote a healthy lifestyle, wherever they choose to live. We are proud of our five-star ratings that is a testament to how we respect our seniors years of knowledge and wisdom. This respect is at the core of our values. Our business model is unlike any other senior service because we are creating new aging experiences. Our clients understand that the need for help doesn’t limit them but assists them in accomplishing more of what they need in their day.
I developed iLoveKare out of a need I believe was lacking in aging adults’ life. I had worked with seniors for over a decade and saw how active aging adults with lesser medical issues had little support in their daily life. I watched, developed, and worked out a plan that would be another senior support option. The dream to create iLoveKare was easy. The rigid part has been continually learning discipline and self-care. Every decision I’ve made has helped guide me to choices that I believe will lead to purposeful wealth for self, family, and community.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I haven’t hung out in the city of Atlanta in a while since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. However, I’ve been supporting local businesses in Cobb County so, we would still have a good time. I would pick my friend up from McCollum field airport and grab a bit to eat at Elevation Chophouse and sky bar, where we would watch planes aviate. Our next stop would be Battery Atlanta. We would enjoy a lively venue featuring shops, bars, restaurants, and a lineup of local musicians. Later that night, we would head over to the Coca-Cola Roxy theater and experience a live concert. Our morning would start at Reveille restaurant to enjoy their homemade quiche while people-watching out on their patio. Then if it’s a beautiful sunny day with no clouds in the sky, we would head to Lake Allatoona for a day on the boat. Lake Allatoona brings enjoyment for people who love to enjoy the water. Our day couldn’t end without stopping by Sunset Grille Lakeside Restaurant. The waterfront views are relaxing to watch. I would end their visit by going to Sunday service at Linked Up Church or Livestream Word of Faith Cathedral.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have support from family, friends, mentors, and frenemies that help me achieve my goals. However, I would like to give a special shout-out to Jane Galvin-Lewis, who passed away earlier this year due to Covid-19. She was my mentor and friend who taught me “never give up my seat at the table.” When I had created an opportunity that brought leaders together to meet and discuss a solution to a problem, a team member asked me no longer to attend the meeting in which I had organized. When I went to seek Ms. Lewis’s counsel, she told me, “remember what American activist Rosa Parks taught us, never give up our rightful seat.” Her words gave me the confidence to attend a meeting that my team member had disinvited me.
