We had the good fortune of connecting with Kimberly Epps and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kimberly, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I was naturally born a creative. My father was a deacon and a choir director; he loved music. My mother had her own side business where she crafted wall decor and jewelry. So, needless to say the creative/ artistic has always been a part of my life.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My background is predominately in Real Estate. Which eventually led me into managing a Television and Film Studio. From there, I made some significant connections and now I am producing my first Docuseries that tells the stories of women of color who have been subjected to the Maternal Mortality Disparity. It’s a personal journey and passion project for me.

It will be available on a major network and also on YouTube.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I don’t get out much. But when I do finally step out I would suggest JEJU. It’s a Korean spa, they have a salt water pool that is amazing and the food is pretty good too. Anything that has to do with decompressing I’m all for.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
LifeHer Podcast by Yvette Lloyd is a tremendous podcast that covers all topics bust specifically, it is inspiring content.
