Meet Kimberly Bass | Herbal Educator and Author

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kimberly Bass and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kimberly, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process when I started my business was rooted in healing and self-reliance. After years of exploring different ways to improve my health, I realized that nature had always been speaking to me. I wanted control over what I consumed and clarity about where it came from. Growing my own herbs and creating my own products wasn’t just about business, it was about alignment, integrity, and sharing something real with others.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am an herbalist, author, and wellness educator who believes healing begins with returning to what is natural, and accessible. My work centers around growing and preparing herbs like fig leaf and rosemary, creating simple, intentional tea blends, and guiding beginners who are just beginning to take their health seriously.
What sets me apart is that I grow what I teach. My herbs are not abstract ingredients ordered in bulk — they are cultivated in my own yard. I understand their life cycle, their seasons, and their energy. That connection to the earth grounds everything I create.
I didn’t begin this journey as a business plan. I began as a woman seeking better health, clarity, and independence. Over the years, I explored different dietary paths and natural wellness practices. Eventually, I realized I wasn’t just learning for myself — I was being prepared to share. Starting my own business was less about entrepreneurship and more about alignment. It was about trusting what I already had and building from there.
It was not easy. Like many small business owners, I faced doubt, financial limitations, and moments of wondering if I was “qualified enough.” I overcame those challenges by starting small, staying honest, and refusing to compare my journey to others. I used what was already in my hands, my fig trees, my knowledge, my discipline, and kept moving forward.
The greatest lesson I’ve learned is that growth is both internal and external. Building a brand requires courage, but building self-trust requires even more. I’ve learned that consistency matters more than perfection, and integrity matters more than speed.
What I want the world to know about my brand is this: it is rooted in intention. I am not chasing trends. I am cultivating something sustainable, peaceful, and real. My story is about reclaiming health, reclaiming voice, and creating stability through nature and faith in the process.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If anyone comes to visit, I take them to my favorite place, which is the Beltline. It has great eateries, it’s open, entertaining and there is never a dull moment. I would end the day by giving away a book that I wrote titled, “The Sacred Fig” sold on Amazon or my website Herbal4love.com

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to shout out my daughter, Lexous who is a florist and allows me to use her green house to assist with my herbs. My other children, Lamar, Lauren and Lilly all support my business and always continue to encourage me to go further. So my shout out is to all four of my children.
