We had the good fortune of connecting with Kim Regas and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kim, what is the most important factor behind your success?
we have just celebrated our 25th year in business. it’s hard to pin point the most important factor behind the success of our brand, but I will say there are two things that I believe have set us apart. 1) previous experience in Advertising where client relations and brand awareness was essential to our success and 2) having tenacity as my super power.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Regas Interiors was founded in 1999 (25 years ago) after a short career in advertising with one of the largest advertising agencies in the southeast. This was where I gained my business experience and client relations experience as I perfected the art of managing several blue chip clients advertising budgets and creative process. I grew wrestles with the agency life and turned to my first love and put my college degree to the test–opening Regas Interiors. you know the saying. the days were long but the years were short. that’s how I feel about looking over my shoulder at 25 years of business.. my business has grown each year through determination, grit and persistence. It was never easy. I managed to raise a family of 3 children, own my business and push towards excellence in design as I kept my eye on the prize of gaining great work and great clients. I’ve learned that working hard, serving others and keeping a humble spirit are essential in setting yourself apart from the pack. you must stay in your lane and do what God has gifted you in. and avoid the comparison trap. you celebrate your victories and more than that, you celebrate your peers victories. And always rejoice in your portion that has been given to. you. I’ve learned this over time. .

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
this city is full of exciting places to go. I’d love to be able to entertain my friends who want to visit. Only if that ever happened!! ha.

I’d start the day with coffee at this place on the Chattahoochee that is only open to the public during the week. you can take your coffee outside and spend hours by the river chatting and enjoying the scenery.

Next, we’d go to the High Museum of Art. It’s such a wonderful place to see culture and enjoy the rotating exhibits.

For lunch, we’d have to go to Rumi’s Kitchen for some wonderful Persian cuisine. Hit a few antique markets in Chamblee before heading down to Buckhead Village for a drink outside at Le Bilboquet by the fire pit.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
there have been so many people that have come in and out of my life that have taught me and shared their wisdom related to growing a business that I’ve had the privilege of knowing. but the one who has single handedly been there since the start of my business in July of 1999 has been my partner, husband and creative genius, Tom Sabonis-Chafee. He’s my IT department, creative thinker, marketing genius and sketchup artist in the early years. He has helped me navigate personnel issues, provide creative solutions to problems, and has been a steady hand in consulting on Client related problems and solutions. He’s my editor in chief when I need a grammar lesson. and He’s been there since the beginning when I had no employees–but enough work to keep the lights on 🙂
