Meet Kierstyn Johnson | Brand & Marketing Coach

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kierstyn Johnson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kierstyn, every day, we about how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
In 2015, I was in a season of wanting to know so badly what my purpose was. After leaving a church service I was sitting in my car and there was a small whisper that came to me so clearly “You are called to help others align with their unique voice so they can walk out who they were called to be while here on Earth”. I always knew I was called to help others yet I could never understand how to use my love to serve others to make income. In 2019, the spring semester as I was completing my Masters’s degree, the light bulb clicked off when I ran across the coaching industry one night after seeing a coaching ad. With my love for marketing, psychology, & helping others I could help others make marketing simple by aligning with how they are designed so they can sign more clients. After speaking with many women of color entrepreneurs, I found they all had one thing in common, they had an amazing skill they know they could use to serve others yet marketing their offer felt like a task. I wanted to come in and fill the gap for women of color who felt silenced due to perfectionism, self-doubt, & systems that weren’t created for them to thrive & help them create marketing strategies that reflected who they were, not molding themselves into a strategy. This would help them make their 9-5 salaries in their businesses & have the freedom of options.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My focus is to help hundreds of women of color experience freedom from something they created whether that’s within my coaching career as a Brand & Marketing Coach. From my time interning at Google to launching multi-million dollar campaigns at another Fortune 500 company, my goal is to help bring a human touch to any marketing as it’s not just a strategy, it’s a lifestyle. I am proud of being able to help women who look just like me make their first 5 figures in a business they only dreamed of and excited to help many more may their take-home pay in their businesses consistently. I help dormant dreams become a reality while having peace of mind at the same time. With many experiences, I have learned that our thoughts truly create our realities, investing in yourself is a liberating experience, & trust the process.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take my best friend to my go-to brunch spot is the Taverna within Buckhead Village followed by spending a day at Chateau Elan with a wine tour and spa day. With the holiday spirit arriving, we would go to Intermezzo Cafe and spend an amazing evening at Holidays on the Roof within Ponce City Market. We would visit Gio’s Chicken Amalfitano for a great lunch and spend the day joy riding and listening to our favorite music for all the vibes. We would also spend a full day on a hike on the East Palisades Trail.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to dedicate my shout out to 2 women in my life who introduced me to entrepreneurship one man who pushed me to strive for more & one woman who showed me the freedom I desired was possible. Thank you to my mother Anitra & Valencia who showed me that I can create a legacy of serving women who look like me through creating my own business. Thank you to my significant other Robert for seeing the fullness of my purpose & challenging me to maximize my potential. Thank you to Dielle, my coach, who has helped me match my 9 -5 salary in my business and more, pushed me to become the best me, & has held space for me to feel safe as a thriving Black entrepreneur.
