We had the good fortune of connecting with Kierstin Graham and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kierstin, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I couldn’t see myself doing anything else! I spent years trying to convince myself to follow the “traditional path”, but it never felt right. I wanted to be able to explore outside the lines when it came to supporting others because we are all so different! There is not a “one size fits all” way to live, we are all unique individuals with different priorities and goals and should be treated as such. My work as a Trauma Informed Yoga Therapist allows me the space to offer just that. An opportunity to support community growth while honoring individuality.

What should our readers know about your business?
Duality Rising is my way of honoring individuality while supporting community growth. Both trauma sensitive yoga (TSY) and yoga therapy allow participants the space to build trust with themselves. Through TSY I support individuals who have experienced trauma reconnect/deepen their connection to interoception, while also widening their window of tolerance. Through Yoga Therapy I support individuals in finding more ease in their day to day life through an individualized practice. I invite clients to explore with curiosity vs judgement, for example if five minutes of movement felt supportive lets celebrate that instead of judging ourself for not moving for 60 minutes!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Water is one of the most healing spaces for me, so Tybee is always my go to. I enjoy spending time on North beach after grabbing a latte from Tybean Art & Coffee Bar.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There are so many incredible individuals I’ve learned with, and from throughout my life. If you have ever allowed me to hold space for you, thank you! I would also like to shoutout Jessie for being open to collaborating and creating magic together through our own version of nourishment Sacred Senses: Hypnotherapy, Yoga Therapy, and nourish ceremonies
