We had the good fortune of connecting with Kiera Walters and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kiera, what inspires you?
I am most inspired by the future God wants for me & what I visualize for myself. I truly believe anything or anybody can be a inspiration, but seeing a glimpse into my future always allow me to presevere & to never give up. It’s easier said than done, but it always helps me to keep my momentum. Often times people lose sight of the end goal or give up along the way, but I want everybody to know success is not always linear. Just because you don’t see the results you want to see right away does not mean you quit, but instead stay inspired. Find more inspiration to keep you going, because in the end you’ll be able to look back at the beginning one day.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I honestly feel like what sets me apart from others is that I don’t care to follow trends, if anything I want to be the one starting trends or just overall being a trending topic in the fashion industry. There are many other stylists that I love that are trending topics & are actually my top picks. Naya Ashley, Kollin Carter, & Daniel Hawkins to name a few.

I feel like what has brung me the furthest professionally is recognizing when it’s time to elevate & learning how to pivot. I’m pretty sure we all look back on our old pictures where we’re wearing a outfit & think, now why did I put that on? & It’s most likely because at the time it was a current trend or what was in. I am able to recognize what’s in for myself & when I feel that I should elevate my style to something that’s more suitable for the present time.

I am most excited to continue my journey & become successful from what my makes me the happiest, which is fashion. It continues to spark my interest over time so that’s what makes it easy for me.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
This is not my first article & with that being said my first one referenced certain people who I am still thankful for, but most importantly I give thanks to God. That is who I am dedicating my shoutout to. I feel like I am nothing without God, I didn’t make it this far without God so that is who I honor at the beginning & end of every single day. I just want to thank God for allowing me the ability to create, to have such a great sense in fashion, & to be able to express myself physically.
