Meet Kiana White | Artist, Content Creator, Social Media Manager, Model

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kiana White and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kiana, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Honestly, I’m a over thinker naturally so when it comes to taking risks I play around with the outcomes in my head a lot. But I always end up going for it. A major risk I took was moving to Atlanta after college. I sat on the idea for a while after visiting some family out here. Then I just took the leap and moved. It’s been amazing since. I’ve met so many people and stepped out of my comfort zone in so many ways. I landed my first job in my field here, began releasing music, got back into modeling..I mean the list goes on! This came from me deciding to leave my place of comfort and come here so I’d encourage anyone to take a risk for sure!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I love this question.

Well, I am a full time social media marketer and content specialist for sporting goods for adidas, Reebok, and Dynamax at the moment. When I first moved to Atlanta I did what I knew. I served at a restaurant full time while pursuing my passions part time. It was frustrating but all I know is to hustle, take care of myself, and don’t quit… so that’s what I did. My degree is in Multi-media Journalism from the Illustrious Morgan State University. While working as a server I continued to put my skills to work when I could. I wouldcreate content for entrepreneurs I was meeting as well as do photo shoots for local models and businesses. I began working as an intern doing social media for a nearby radio station after meeting the owner at the restaurant I worked at. From there I felt motivated to apply for more jobs in my field, I eventually landed a full time job as a social media manager for Bobby Jones Golf Course in Buckhead. I loved it. That was my first full time opportunity doing what I love and went to school for. After a year and a half there I began looking for more opportunities to expand my portfolio and dive deeper into content creation and marketing. After interviewing for a few months I landed my new full time job creating content for these brands I didn’t even imagine myself working for one day. To be honest, I was discouraged for a while..doubted my capabilities and felt like I may be stuck serving or bartending and creating content part time. Those random bursts of determination after getting opportunities and meeting people that motivated me is what put me in the position I’m in today. I learned to keep pushing myself no matter what. I love being able to create content for these huge brands but then also do my own thing as well so I’m comfortable and capable to still chase my dreams. I’d say I learned you don’t have to stay in the position you’re currently in. Even if you feel like you have to. If you want something to change you’ve gotta switch some things up! You may be uncomfortable for a while but that’s okay!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Omg. I’m so bad at this. I actually need to get out more myself lol.

I’d say…let’s go to Piedmont park for a picnic, Edgewood for an “interesting” bar crawl, No Mas for some amazing Mexican Food, The Beltline for a fun walk or scooter ride, and the Trap Museum for some hip hop history!

That’s tough! Lol I know so many dope people that have supported me like crazy with all the creative paths I’ve chosen. Whether that’s us working together, them putting me on to new opportunities, or just being amazing and supportive!
