We had the good fortune of connecting with Kiah Lyles and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kiah, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
Being able to have those one-on one conversations are the things that impact my community. We have those real conversations that makes one stop, think, and look within in order to “Own Your Brokenness.” . My mission is to empower, encourage, enlighten, and to shift mindsets in order to provoke change.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a professionally licensed Master Barber and Instructor by trade. The thing that sets me apart from the rest is the discipline that I’ve gained over the years. I’m mostly excited about this 4th quarter of 2022, that I am currently in. It is giving me preparation time to step into my next season with confidence and ease.

Consistency, loyalty, stability, and dependability are the 4 things that catapulted my business to the place it is today. No, it was not easy but it was worth it. I’ve had first hand experience of every season that came alone with it., but I never quit. I always knew that someone was using my life as a blueprint for theirs.

Some of the most valuable lessons that I’ve learned over the years are:
1. Be the example of what you desire to see in others.
2. Humility will open doors that pride will never enter..
3. Choose your words wisely because they have the power to build or destroy.
4. Adequate communication will shift the entire situation if you take time to invest into it.

Barbering is the foundation that’s paving the way to my Destiny. Building healthy relationships is my secret to success. It’s not what you know all the time but who you’re connected to. Having the right people around you is so key to your growth, but the most important thing is, keeping God first in all that I do.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Who doesn’t love live music?? We would check out the City Winery or St. James for some live entertainment. I would take my friend to the Milk and Honey Restaurant, the Starlite Drive Inn Movie and everything else will be played by ear.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to dedicate this shoutout to all of those who have crossed my path. I’ve met some awesome people in my life, and I’ve learned something from each one of them. I would not be the person that I am today if you hadn’t help to groom me with your challenges, questions, impartations, and authenticity. Please receive these flowers now while you can still smell them. Thank you for the role that you have played in my life. It is gratefully appreciated and will never be forgotten.
