Meet Khy | Rapper

We had the good fortune of connecting with Khy and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Khy, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I pursued an artistic/creative career because I genuinely enjoy making music. I look forward to going to the studio every single time, the joy never diminishes. I want the world to hear my music and enjoy it in the same way that I do.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am most proud of putting out my song “Riot” on Spotify and Apple Music. I think what sets me apart from others is my voice, it’s unique and is a different sound. I got to where I am today professionally by never giving up. I don’t think anything in life that is worthwhile is going to be easy, if it was easy everyone would do it. The main lesson I’ve learned especially in the past few months is to have patience. Social media sometimes makes us believe success happens overnight and we don’t see the sleepless night or hours that people put in behind closed doors. One thing I want the world to know about me and my brand is I’m the new sound that the industry needs and I’m ready for the world to hear my music.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Carbone – it’s such a vibe and has great food Times Square – we can walk around, people watch, and watch the TV screens on the buildings
Little Italy – its a area of NYC dedicated to Italian food
Bubba Gump – because Forrest Gump is one of my favorite movies and the waiters do interactive games
Statue of Liberty – I’m a New Yorker and have never been but it’s an amazing tourist attraction
STK – for drinks because they have a late night happy hour & great cocktails!
Jay Z Museum – Jay Z is a living legend and did a lot for the culture
Central Park – One of the largest parks in Nyc and also a good spot to chill out and have ice cream
Barclays Center – to watch a basketball game
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
A person that [ want to dedicate my shoutout to is JR. A close friend of mine who also happens to be the person that introduced me to making music. I think as artists you can never forget that person! My whole family also deserves recognition because they support everything I do and it helps probably more than they can imagine.
