We had the good fortune of connecting with Khladun OLUWA and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Khladun, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The idea of someone else determining the value of my energy and time based on an hourly wage never made sense to me. With all of the work that has to be done in our communities and the unemployment rate is ridiculous, we should figure out ways to develop, construct, cultivate our neighborhoods, and learn the fundamental principles of living and doing for SELF.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
As of lately my art has become a direct response to the struggles, conflicts, and disorder in this society today. While I’m freeing my Mind through art I can convey free-thinking. When people see my art it changes them, it makes them see things they’ve never seen before. Although, my work is revolutionary it can also be confrontational, in that, it is self-convicting. When you look at it it provokes deeper levels of thinking. Discipline, Focus, Dedication, Sacrifice. Every journey begins with the first step, so its never easy. But, all of the hard work and endurance makes it all gratifying. I’ve learned that I’m always going to be learning because acquiring knowledge is key to the approach and application in the process of creating and in Life. When you have a vision it is your responsibility to make it manifest.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Due to the pandemic nothing is really open and I definitely don’t get out much.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
In a time of crisis and pandemonium the whole world needs healing, and everyone should have a sense of peace and comfort. That’s my shoutout.
