Meet Kharikyoto | Artist & Producer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kharikyoto and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi kharikyoto, what inspires you?
Im inspired by people who can take their thoughts and create worlds. Thats the type of thing that i have always admired whether its an author, designer, artist, chef, anything. The ability to take people into your imagination is the greatest gift of life to me.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I think when it comes to art what i really enjoy is hearing someones story, in their style. Authenticity is what gets me; being able to hear about the side of people they would never show. This music is my version of that. Im a caribbean-american black suburban boy from new jersey who is obsessed with futurism and making incredible music. I want to make utopia type music and bring everyone in the world I always dreamed of.

Getting to where I am now has not been easy. I spent a lot of time dealing with my own insecurity and constant “is this good enough?” which makes it hard to realize your own gift. I got past it by getting better in tune with myself and realizing everyone, including myself is one of one.

The most important lesson I have learned is the answer is always within, and that creativity cant come from anything on the outside.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well i live in LA now, so we’d probably go on a scenic hike, grab a smoothie at Urth (im trying to be healthy), ive been meaning to try marathon burger so that after ward, and maybe hit a couple flea/farmers markets. Besides that we’d probably be inside playing video games or making music thats about it lol.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My family for raising me, my friends for growing with me, and everyone who still believes in me.
