We had the good fortune of connecting with Keyon Edwards and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Keyon, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Starting my own business was a decision that was driven by a combination of factors, including my passion for entrepreneurship, my desire for financial independence, and my belief in the value of the product or service I wanted to offer.

I’ve always been fascinated by the idea of creating something from scratch and the freedom that comes with being your own boss. After gaining experience in the industry, I realized that I had a unique perspective and skill set that could be leveraged to create something truly valuable for customers.

Before launching my business, I conducted extensive research to identify gaps in the market and understand the needs and preferences of my target audience. I also developed a clear strategy for launching and growing the business, including marketing, sales, and operations.

Building a strong team was also a critical part of my thought process. I carefully selected individuals who shared my passion and vision for the business, and who had the skills and expertise to help us succeed.

Overall, my thought process behind starting my own business was rooted in a deep passion for entrepreneurship, a strong desire to create something of value, and a commitment to hard work and strategic thinking. I am excited about the opportunities ahead and confident in our ability to achieve our goals.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I own an insurance brokerage that specializes in helping people build cash value policies. What sets us apart from others in the industry is our commitment to providing customized solutions that meet the unique needs and goals of each individual client. We understand that insurance can be complex and overwhelming, so we work closely with our clients to help them understand their options and make informed decisions.

I am most proud of the positive impact we have had on our clients’ lives. By helping them build cash value policies, we are empowering them to achieve their financial goals and protect their families’ futures. Seeing the peace of mind and security that our clients gain from our services is truly rewarding.

Getting to where we are today has not been easy. Like any business, we have faced our fair share of challenges, from navigating regulatory changes to adapting to new technologies. However, we have overcome these challenges by staying focused on our clients’ needs and being willing to adapt and innovate when necessary.

Through these challenges, we have learned the importance of perseverance, agility, and a strong commitment to our core values. We are constantly seeking new ways to improve our services and better serve our clients.

Ultimately, what I want the world to know about our brand and story is that we are passionate about helping people achieve financial security and peace of mind. We believe that everyone deserves access to high-quality insurance services that are tailored to their unique needs and goals. By providing personalized solutions and exceptional service, we are proud to be making a positive difference in the lives of our clients.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
As an entrepreneur who lives in Atlanta, I would love to show my best friend the best time ever! Here’s an itinerary for a week-long trip:

Day 1: We’ll start with brunch at West Egg Cafe in Midtown, followed by a walk through Piedmont Park. In the afternoon, we’ll head to the Atlanta BeltLine Eastside Trail for a leisurely bike ride. For dinner, we’ll go to Two Urban Licks for delicious New American cuisine and live music.

Day 2: We’ll spend the morning exploring the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site, including the King Center and the Ebenezer Baptist Church. For lunch, we’ll head to Sweet Auburn Curb Market for a variety of local food options. In the afternoon, we’ll visit the World of Coca-Cola to learn about the history of the iconic beverage. For dinner, we’ll try some of the best sushi in Atlanta at Umi.

Day 3: We’ll start the day with breakfast at Buttermilk Kitchen, known for its farm-to-table Southern cuisine. Next, we’ll visit the Georgia Aquarium, the largest aquarium in the Western Hemisphere, to see amazing marine life. In the evening, we’ll check out the bustling nightlife scene in Buckhead, starting with drinks at The Painted Pin, a trendy boutique bowling alley and bar.

Day 4: We’ll take a day trip to the charming town of Roswell, just north of Atlanta. We’ll explore the historic district, visit the Chattahoochee Nature Center, and grab lunch at Salt Factory Pub, a local favorite. In the evening, we’ll attend a show at the Roswell Cultural Arts Center.

Day 5: We’ll start with breakfast at The Flying Biscuit Cafe, a beloved Atlanta institution. Then we’ll visit the High Museum of Art to see an impressive collection of contemporary and classic art. For lunch, we’ll go to Ponce City Market and try some of the delicious food options at the food hall. In the evening, we’ll head to the Fox Theatre, a stunning historic venue, for a concert or show.

Day 6: We’ll spend the day exploring the outdoors in North Georgia. We’ll hike the stunning trails at Amicalola Falls State Park, followed by lunch at the charming Dahlonega Square. In the evening, we’ll attend a concert at the intimate Eddie’s Attic in Decatur.

Day 7: We’ll end the week with brunch at Bread & Butterfly in Inman Park, known for its French-inspired cuisine. Then we’ll explore the trendy neighborhood of Little Five Points, browsing the eclectic shops and street art. We’ll finish the trip with dinner at Gunshow, a unique dining experience where chefs bring their dishes to the table and explain them to guests.

In my view, some of the most fun, interesting, and exciting places to check out in Atlanta include the Atlanta BeltLine, the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site, the Georgia Aquarium, the High Museum of Art, and Ponce City Market. The food scene in Atlanta is also fantastic, with many innovative restaurants and chefs pushing the boundaries of Southern cuisine. The nightlife scene in Buckhead and Little Five Points is also worth checking out for a fun night out.
