We had the good fortune of connecting with Kevonne Henderson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kevonne, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process behind starting Kevstylez LC was basically removing myself from the position of being a worker to being the Boss. No longer being short changed for my hard work and reaping the full benefits. While also exploiting my God given talents and servicing those who need my services.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I think what sets me apart from most photographers is that im always thinking of ways to elevate being a creative you have to be well rounded. Willing to learn more and more and not get comfortable with the state that you are in. Im most proud of the dark places i have came from that have molded me into who i am today. Ive gotten to this place because of it the lack of knowledge in retouching, lighting conditions and more it wasnt easy but with God anything is possible. I overcame alot with not only studying but prayer learning myself and loving myself realizing that just because im not where i want to be yet doesnt mean i shouldnt show gratitude in my current situation. Ive learned so many lesson just from trial and error beating myself up because my work didnt look like this photographer or that one not realizing that all i needed to do was perfect my style and trademark KEV’s style. This is just the beginning for me the world will soon know me for not only my work but my ambition and faith in God and my business.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Its a couple of people that i can say that encouraged me to keep pushing in times i wanted to give up. God has to be my number 1 support and strength throughout the 5 years of business. I thank Collee for opening my eyes to the fact that if success is for you it doesn’t matter who you are with or where you are its for you and it will come . My mother being my reason to continue to strive knowing that i not only want a better life for me but for her and my family as well. My friends and family Kedrin, Mynee, Nique and Reggie always amp me up and let me know that i am elevating in the game. Most importantly i wanna thank My business partner/ Girlfriend Kelsey for being ‘my superwoman, my marketer, advertising agent, #1 fan and more. Its amazing how a person can come in your life in a short period of time and show you what true love is through not only words but actions im more than grateful.
