We had the good fortune of connecting with Kevin Freiberg and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kevin, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most crucial factor that has led to my successes in my career would definitely be consistency! I’ve always been a firm believer that it doesn’t matter the industry, consistency will always keep the clients coming back. If your consumers know what they’re getting every time, they’ll never feel hesitant paying for your time!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a Hairstylist & Makeup Artist with a focal point in the commercial/fashion industry! I started in the industry at the age of 16, sweeping floors in a local small town salon. I never in a million years thought I would be traveling the country, painting faces and having all these incredible experiences!

I just recently styled an artist for his album cover & music videos which launched in Europe & North America simultaneously! That was the coolest moment for myself, seeing and holding a physical record and knowing I was a key part of that entire project!

It hasn’t been an easy road by any means though, and that’s the biggest thing I want to tell the upcoming creatives. There have been so many days I’ve cried in the car, felt defeated, and wanted to quit the business but you have to keep pushing through it. Every breakthrough story and success story truly does come from a series of lessons learned and failures. I promise it DOES get better if you grow and stay humble with the process!

There’s never been a day that I’ve regretted my decision to be in the beauty industry, through every trial and tribulation it’s always kept me blessed and ready for more!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
When my best friends are in Atlanta, I always take them on a food tour! Atlanta has so many local cuisines to offer and you can never get enough of them! We would start the day walking the Beltline with views of the city, swing by New Realm Brewery for some rooftop drinks, and finish off with some locally sourced shopping at Ponce City Market!

Dinner would of course be at my FAVORITE Atlanta restaurant, BoccaLupo! It’s this fabulous spot in Inman Park that hand crafts French/Italian dishes that are to die for!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I couldn’t possibly tell my story without raving about all the incredible mentors I had along the way to guide me! Paul Mitchell Atlanta truly changed my life & the way I handled my career. I have to shoutout my ladies Jackie Justice, Jan Allen, Starr Parker, and my favorite photographer Katie Parker Rixon for molding my skills and eye for detail over the years! I wouldn’t be where I am without their love & support!

There’s so many more women I could name but the list would take forever, and I’m so grateful for every single person I’ve encountered along my journey!
