Meet Kevin Ameyaw | Founder of Home Of Afrobeats: LLC

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kevin Ameyaw and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kevin, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process in starting my business stemmed from recognizing a gap in the market for Afrobeats media coverage, particularly for upcoming artists in the USA. I wanted to create a platform that supports these artists and lets them know they’re not alone in their journey.

What should our readers know about your business?
Our business, Home of Afrobeats LLC, stands out from other media platforms by dedicating our efforts to showcasing upcoming Afrobeats artists based in the USA, a segment often overlooked in the industry. We take pride in the fact that many emerging artists resonate with our vision and eagerly collaborate with us to create a vibrant community. Our journey to where we are today involved consistent engagement on social media, such as our weekly New Music Fridays and Spotlight Thursdays, highlighting the visual works of new Afrobeats musicians. Additionally, we’ve curated a global radar playlist on Apple Music and Spotify to feature upcoming artists. It hasn’t been easy; it takes a dedicated team to conduct weekly research and provide these updates.Throughout this journey, I’ve learned the importance of perseverance. Despite facing challenges, we remain committed to our mission. We want the world to know that Home of Afrobeats is more than just a brand; it’s a platform that believes in uplifting upcoming Afrobeats musicians in the US, recognizing them as the future of music.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If a friend was visiting New York, I’d recommend starting with some authentic African cuisine at spots like Papaye Restaurant in the Bronx, Accra Restaurant in Harlem, and Sanbra Restaurant for truly delicious Ghanaian food. For nightlife, Faaji Nights curated by @ManlikeCEO promises unlimited enjoyment, while Afrobeats and brunch on Sundays by Cuefilms and Yak Pistik offer a unique vibe. Keep an eye out for events hosted by the Ensah Boys for more fun.Don’t miss cultural events like ‘My Homeland Ghana’ which celebrates Ghana Independence Day on March 6th. And for souvenirs, check out Sacred Status, Ashanti Beads, and Kin Apparel for some of the hottest brands in New York.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
“I want to express my deepest gratitude to the vibrant African community in New York and New Jersey for their steadfast support of the Afrobeats scene. I also extend appreciation to the talented musicians who have embraced our platform’s vision and collaborated with us to amplify their voices. Special shoutouts to artists like Jasmine T, Mikenice, Underrated Evolution, Fadí, Sudxn, Movie Brothas, and the many other rising talents that HOA has had the privilege to work with; they are truly exceptional.I’d like to give a huge shoutout to GQ, whose unwavering support has been instrumental in our outreach efforts. He consistently connects us with events that showcase upcoming Afrobeats artists, utilizing platforms like MajorStage to provide them with opportunities to perform. His dedication to shining a light on emerging talent is unparalleled, and we are immensely grateful for his contributions.
