We had the good fortune of connecting with Kevett Chanell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kevett, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process behind starting my own business was very challenging. I knew what I wanted I knew how I wanted it, I just had lack of knowledge on getting started. I studied and took classes from wonderful entrepreneurs to get the knowledge I need to be the best that I am today.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I have two businesses that I’m very proud of. I am in the STR (short term rental) business and I have my own brand called Sweet Smokez that will be relaunching January 2025. I started my Short term Rental business (ZxZ Enterprise) in 2022. I got my first unit in Birmingham, Alabama two months before Birmingham hosted the 2022 Olympics. Right now I have two profitable units and will be expanding internationally March 2025. My second business which is very unique to me is called Sweet Smokez. I sell Candy Hookah Tips. I started with this brand in 2022 as well but I was having a lot of trials because of the lack of knowledge with selling online , pricing the correct way, and getting different licenses to be able to sell. I took a year to learn and to study and I am ready. Right now my team and I are getting ready for the biggest relaunch 2025 and I can’t wait for the world to see all of the hard work I’ve put in.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
This is good lol. Living in Atlanta there is always something to do. I will say get your stomach ready because we will be eating lol. First stop on the itinerary will be Kabob land, they have the best Mediterranean food I’ve ever tasted and the hookahs never disappoints. Next, we will stop at BQE on a Friday night to get some good food and good music with the live band, let’s not forget a hookah is a must. Before you leave Atlanta you have to go to Harold’s on Edgewood. I love going durning the summer because of the outside seating area, it’s always so nice out there. There is plenty more places but those are my top 3.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would give all credit to my mentor Lex because she pushed me when I had nothing in me. She gave me all of the knowledge I needed to jump into entrepreneurship and she pushed me into believing in myself. She worked with me day in and day out and she never gave up on me during the times I needed a break or when I wanted to give up.
