We had the good fortune of connecting with Kessiana Promaphile and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kessiana, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
When I decided to start a business I didn’t know what I was going to do to open up shop or how I was going to do it. I just knew I was going to own something and it was going to help me and help others. I had so many ideas, so many interests but couldn’t decide on one to take me to where I needed to go. After a couple failed attempts and some dibbling and dabbling I finally realized that I had to just pick something, weather I was making money from it or not, and it had to be the thing I loved the most. And eventually I found what I needed to do in order to kick start my career as a creative, an entrepreneur, investor, and philanthropist.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Honestly, my career as a Brand consultant and Content creator is fairly new. I’ve been in University the last four years dealing with the ups and downs of life and maintaining a balance between school and life has been really hard. So I try to remain humble and grateful for the position I am in now. To be able to contract my services and work on my on time is truly a blessing. I doubted myself so much before I actually even tried but when opportunity knocks sometimes you have no choice but to answer. A lot of what brought me to where I am now is literal blind faith. A lot of the time I have absolutely no idea how I’m going to achieve my goals but I’ve come to learn that belief and trust can take you a very long way.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Okay well I’m definitely a home body but I do have some must see places and things I love around the city. Like RA Sushi Bar and restaurant downtown and The RoofTop at Ponce City Market which is a top tier location for fun and relaxation. At this point I’m at in life I’ve become more more into the outdoors and fitness so I’d love to take my bestie to Stone Mountain to enjoy the view and walk a couple trails around the city, like the one in the Cascade nature preserve. And ofc you can’t come to Atlanta without attending a brunch so I’d have no choice but to Recommend that We go to RumPunch Brunch on Sunday!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
It may be a little cliché but my biggest shout out goes out to my mother. Because without her I wouldn’t be the Woman I am today. But I want to shout out all my friends and family who continue to love and support me even when the things I do don’t make any sense. I’m definitely the family member that will redirect and reroute my life’s path at the drop of a dime. So shout to the ones who stood by me when the road was looking a little sketchy.
