Meet KeSean Jamal

We had the good fortune of connecting with KeSean Jamal and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi KeSean, can you share the most important lesson you’ve learned over the course of your career?
The most important lesson I have learned from my business/career is the importance of consistent hustle and motivation. Regardless of whether you are launching a new business or are well-established in your career, persistence is crucial. It is essential to keep the public informed about your ongoing efforts and progress. In my career, I have had numerous instances where I completed prolonged periods of work, followed by periods of inactivity. However, this approach is detrimental. It is vital to maintain continuity, as discontinuation can result in missed opportunities.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
During my upbringing, I was a small-town individual with big aspirations for the bustling metropolis. As a result, my fashion sense stood out among my male peers, which often led to me being a target of mockery. However, I refused to let this deter me. I blocked out the negativity and continued to embrace my unique style throughout grade school, regardless of any criticism from others.
When I entered high school, everything changed for the better. Fortunately, my small town high school offered a fashion program that allowed me to pursue my passion and learn the art of sewing. I was overjoyed by this incredible opportunity. In my sophomore year, I eagerly enrolled in the program, and for the next three years leading up to my graduation, I gained invaluable knowledge under the guidance of my fashion teacher, Mrs. Dittman.
It was during my senior year when Mrs. Dittman played a pivotal role in helping me fulfill my dreams. She supported and assisted me in applying to my dream fashion college, F.I.T. (Fashion Institute of Technology), and to my delight, I was accepted. This marked a significant milestone in my journey, paving the way for the realization of my fashion aspirations.
After completing my fashion design degree at the Fashion Institute of Technology back in 2012, I returned to my small town, Syracuse, NY, where I commenced my journey in the fashion industry. I was grateful to have a sold-out crowd for my debut fashion show, titled “Welcome Home.” Following that, positive feedback and word-of-mouth from my clients helped spread my name throughout the New York region. Thanks to my celebrity clientele, I have managed to establish a strong social media presence and an excellent reputation.
Recently, I embraced a business mindset and took the leap to start my own clothing business. With a passion for creating custom garments, I saw an opportunity to transform my skills into a profitable venture. Setting up shop, I began crafting unique clothing pieces that catered to individual preferences and tastes.
By offering custom-made clothes, I aimed to provide customers with personalized, one-of-a-kind designs that would make them feel confident and stylish. From the initial concept to the final product, I dedicated myself to delivering high-quality craftsmanship and attention to detail.
Through my business, I not only aimed to generate income but also to bring joy to customers by helping them express their individuality through fashion. Being able to share my creations with others and witness the satisfaction they gain from wearing them brings me a tremendous sense of fulfillment.
With persistence, determination, and an unwavering commitment to excellence, I strive to build a successful and reputable brand that resonates with customers who appreciate unique, custom-made clothing.
The KeSean Jamal brand represents my vision, which combines fine art with fashion to create a bold and timeless aesthetic. My designs explore the beauty of shapes, lines, forms, and contrasting elements. KeSean Jamal offers a diverse range of clothing for men, women, and children that is dynamic, daring, and fashionable.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
What a week with KeSean looks like… aaaah! Day 1 I would start the day out with brunch, because everything is better with brunch! Particularly a fun spot with music, mimosas, hookah and of course great food, or it’s not worth it! Following brunch, if we can still hang for the night I’d suggest a popular tik tok based restaurant and then find and r&b night at a club or lounge, let’s make some memories!
If I’m lucky and don’t wake up with a hangover from hell, my friend and I would start the day with a gigantic breakfast extravaganza and just go to town on it. Following that food coma, we’d get our adrenaline pumping with a fun-filled day at an amusement park or Ponce city market rooftop. Something that’ll keep us occupied for hours, until we’re ready for dinner and a night out on the town!
The 3rd day is when my inner grandpa takes over, so I’d recommend a breakfast spot that’s off the chain. Next, I’d suggest checking out some of Atlanta’s big hitters like the high museum or aquarium. After that, I’m ready to get my cook on and throw down in the kitchen so we’d stay in for the night.
Honestly by the 4th day… good luck!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Before I express my gratitude to the thousands of supporters who have contributed to my success over the past decade, I would like to acknowledge my fashion teacher and mentor, Mrs. Dittman, who initially recognized my potential and encouraged me to pursue a career in design. Without her tireless efforts in teaching me the fundamentals of sewing, assisting me with college applications, and providing guidance, I am uncertain where I would be today. Thank you, Mrs. Dittman, as well as my family, friends, and supporters.
