We had the good fortune of connecting with Kerry Braithwaite and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kerry, how do you think about risk?
Since moving to the U.S. from Trinidad and Tobago with no other family here stateside, my family and I had to not only quickly grasp the English language but also their custom ways of doing things in schools and in our daily lives. When I started doing music the only place to build my craft was in a garage with no heat during the middle of winter and very little money for equipment, so making due with whatever money I was able to scrape up was the beginning of me learning risk at an early age by believing and re-investing in myself. Along the way I have lost more money in trying to align with what would appear on the surface to be genuine individuals, only to get burned or misguided on multiple occasions. So in spite the risk you take over and over with the hope that eventually your tree will bare fruit is the ultimate risk in life.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I would have to say my determination and consistent work ethic. Seeing that my hard work is starting to pay off of course it wasn’t easy, there was a lot of trial and error with a lot of things that went wrong but staying dedicated and tunnel vision on the goal kept me going and got me to where I’m at now. One thing I learned is success doesn’t happen overnight people say it alot but a lot of people don’t believe it to be true. It takes YEARS!
It’s family oriented, foreign based, and well organized

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Midtown, of course you have to visit the aquarium and Coca Cola facility. Battery Park is a nice place to visit and take in a baseball game depending on the time of the visit. Whataburger, Bando’s (wings) definitely are two of the restaurants that have to be on the menu. Buckhead for a day of shopping at Lenox Square and Phipps Plaza, I like the Grand Luxe Cafe in Phipps to grab a bite to eat.
The Avalon in Alpharetta for hanging out and grabbing a bite to eat on any one of the outdoor patios.
Premium Outlet in Dahlonega if you want to hit some of the higher fashion stores while saving some money
I would definitely take a trip into the Blue Ridge mountains for the sites to close out their visit

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I wanna give a personal shout-out to my mom As well as my aunt Sabrina for believing and investing into my dreams and passion, also my brother and music partner Koon Ru. Finally I also wanna extend a shout out to all the people tuning into my music and movement, thank you
