We had the good fortune of connecting with Keri Fraser and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Keri, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?

I was born and raised in the beautiful United States Virgin Islands. Growing up in the Virgin Islands and especially being surrounded by people of great faith in God, had a major impact on who I am today. The Virgin Islands has had it’s share of storms and major hurricanes, yet as a community, we possess a tenacity to stand strong, rebuild and never lose hope. Like the palm tree, I have learned to bend (but not to break) as I endured the storms of life. As I experienced God’s love and grace guiding me through the storm, it empowered and encouraged me to help others in their time of need.

I was taught the importance of having a personal relationship with God from a very young age. That has been my foundation as I continue to build relationships with different people around the world. My faith in God guides me as a compass in treating people with love and respect.

I believe that the greatest gift we can give to God, our Creator is to fully embrace who He created us to be and fulfill what He created us to do. My daily affirmation is “I am uniquely created, designed with purpose, fully equipped to fulfill my God-given assignment in the earth. I am an original, a one of a kind masterpiece and that makes me PRICELESS!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.

I love to uplift and empower people. Whether it is through music, messages, tv shows or books, it’s an honor for me to be able to spread the message of love, hope and grace. It is a message needed now more than ever.

I started singing from a young age in the Virgin Islands. Eventually, I began to write songs that I thought were just the sentiments of my heart in my private time with God. But many times we are thinking on a much smaller scale than God. I had no idea that I would record music and sing on platforms in different nations. In the music business, it is sometimes difficult for people to embrace their authentic self. It can be tempting to try to be like someone else to fit in or get ahead. I had to learn that what I have is special. There is room for all of us. I have been honored to receive music awards such as: the Newsome Award for Female Vocalist of the Year; the Season 10 Prayze Factor: Songwriter of the year and Video of the Year(Open Heaven); the Season 12 Prayze Factor: Praise & Worship Solo Artist, Songwriter of the year, and Artist of the Year; the Season 13 Prayze Factor: Praise Team of the Year; as well as the Season 14 Prayze Factor: Praise Team of the Year and Songwriter of the Year.

My first book, “Taking the Limits Off!” was written to challenge believers to walk in God’s divine order and unlimited power. My devotional journal (Tea with Pastor Keri) is designed to encourage believers to recharge in the presence of the Lord. My most recent book, “Released from Rejection” is a 10-day journey to a new perspective on one of life’s biggest obstacles. The truth is, we all go through difficult situations. I have learned to trust God because I know He loves me and He will never leave me.

I currently serve as the Senior Pastor of Abundant Rain Empowerment Church and co-labor in ministry with my husband of 29 years, Prophet Dwayne Fraser. Together, we provide vision and leadership to our congregation and other Int’l ministries. I am also the business owner of Fraser Financial and Computer Solutions. With regards to educational pursuits, I have obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; Master’s degree in Christian Education; and Doctorate degree in Ministry.

Many people say “Stay in your lane”. I believe the Highway is yours so switch lanes when necessary.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

Georgia has something for everyone. My friends and I would enjoy a hike to the top of Stone Mountain or ride bikes on one of the many beautiful trails in the city. We would definitely buy fresh fruits and vegetables from local farmers. Then, enjoy a lovely dinner at Sam’s on Main or Oyster Bay restaurant, take a sunset cruise at Lake Lanier and catch a show in downtown Atlanta.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?

So many people have been instrumental in my success story and I am grateful for all of them. Special shoutout to my family for giving me the constant support I need to fulfill my purpose. Shoutout to Abundant Rain Empowerment Church (my church home), Pastors Frank and Mary Ofosu-Appiah (All Nations Church) and Dr. Teresa Jordan (PGNTV/Prayzefactor Awards).
