We had the good fortune of connecting with Keren Granados and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Keren, how do you think about risk?
Overall, any decisions you take will impact your life or career the same also goes for the decisions you do not take. The more centered you are about who you are, the better your assessment on what risk you afford. I can now say, that by taking an early career risk, it helped me to learn valuable lessons, get more experience, and help me to move ahead quickly. While living in California, I remember having the choice between continue working as full-time employee, or placing all my chips on getting my MBA. This was a choice I had faced, so I asked my boss for his point of view and recommendations to pursue my advanced education. The conversation with my boss was the tipping point of my career, not only did he help me pay half of my MBA cost, but in the long term, the knowledge I gained, which lead to my move to Atlanta, Georgia where I currently operate all of my businesses. My life is the result of TAKING THAT ONE RISK. I did not want to find myself saying “why didn’t I do it sooner” I would’ve been in a different spot/position. As life goes on, I want to live without any regrets.
My recommendation will always be “Don’t be afraid of taking that step to move forward” the only way of knowing if you’re walking the correct path, keep on going and looking at your results, and make any necessary adjustments.
Taking Risks It’s worth it! The sailor is made in the chaos of the storm and not in the safety of the harbor.
Being comfortable with risk, will teach you to adapt easily and give you the flexibility you need to handle anything that life throws at you.
Remember that taking a risk will give you knowledge, experience, courage and most of the time, a financial reward. Do not to be afraid of any failure outcome, because failure its temporary, but regrets are permanent. Be comfortable with the Risks, it will give you the strength to keep on going no matter what. They will set you to a higher standard in order to pursue your dream life.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
One of the most fascinating and exciting part of the work I do is by helping other women to succeed in their entrepreneurial path with BizMujer. A movement created to learn from successful businesswomen on how to grow a profitable business, create wealth and live the moment. Nothing has been easy down the path, despite barriers, inadequate access to capital, being a woman, a Latina, speaking a different language, we are still outpacing as a minority in the U.S.
But we want to show the world that we are capable, have the courage and embrace at what ever it takes we will pursue our dreams as latina entrepreneurs.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?Atlanta has so many exciting places to visit such as: Georgia Aquarium, CNN Center, the World of Coca-Cola, the Atlanta Botanical Garden, The Bamboo Forest and many more. As well as great places to eat like: Antico Pizza, Intermezzo Café, Nova Sushi Bar, The Masterpiece and much more.
Although, there are a lot of places to visit, food to enjoy and trails to hike, it would take weeks to months to indulge what Atlanta and their surroundings can delight us with.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
To all the women that have inspired me by their courage, strength, wisdom and knowledge with passion without any reservations.
