Meet Keondra Sanford | Life Coach

We had the good fortune of connecting with Keondra Sanford and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Keondra, what do you attribute your success to?
My brand isn’t just about beauty, health, or business—it’s about helping women transform every area of their lives with strategies that are practical, spiritual, and sustainable. “Women deserve to be whole—mind, body, spirit, and financially.”

Your brand transforms women from the inside out—emotionally, spiritually, financially, physically, and professionally.
2. Purpose-Driven
You don’t just sell services. You help women rebuild their identity, confidence, and direction in life.
3. Proven Transformation
My journey—from surviving an accident, overcoming lupus, losing 110+ pounds, building multiple businesses, to raising 3 daughter’s and adopting 2 sisters in the premature death of my father at age 54—my life proves that transformation is not just possible, but repeatable for others.
4. Safe Space for Women
My brand creates community, mentorship, and accountability—something women desperately need.
5. Legacy-Focused
Everything I do is about teaching women how to leave generational wealth, health, and wisdom.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
What sets Keondra “Keke” Sanford apart in business is not simply what she has built — it is why she built it. Every brand she leads is rooted in transformation, faith, and the belief that pain can be repurposed into purpose.
As the founder of Beatsbykeke LLC, Sanford created more than a beauty company; she cultivated a healing space where confidence is restored from the inside out. After being diagnosed with lupus and walking through her own physical and emotional battles, makeup became therapeutic for her — a tool that helped her reclaim her identity during one of the most vulnerable seasons of her life. What began as personal restoration evolved into a professional calling that has since helped hundreds of women rediscover their strength, beauty, and voice.
Her expansion into EmpowerHer Consulting was a natural progression of that mission. Recognizing that many women needed more than encouragement — they needed strategy — Sanford built a consulting firm dedicated to helping women transform their health, wealth, and mindset. From business formation and credit education to lifestyle coaching and branding, EmpowerHer operates at the intersection of practical tools and personal breakthrough.
Yet one of the initiatives closest to her heart is the You Are Wanted Campaign, a youth-centered suicide awareness and prevention movement she leads alongside the owner ,her daughter Kiersten Sanford. More than a campaign, it is a declaration — a reminder to young people that their lives carry immeasurable value. Sanford believes that when communities prioritize mental and emotional wellness, they change the trajectory of future generations.
Never one to limit her vision, Sanford is also stepping into community development through the Johnnie Appleseed Housing initiative, where she is working to expand access to affordable independent living. Her goal is simple but powerful: create environments where people are not only housed but positioned to rebuild their lives with dignity.
But her journey into entrepreneurship was far from easy.
Sanford often says that her path was built on faith steps, not comfort zones. From surviving a devastating accident while pregnant — after doctors told her she might never walk again — to later navigating chronic illness, she learned early that resilience is a decision. There were moments of uncertainty, seasons where resources felt limited, and times when she had to lead while still healing. Yet each obstacle refined her leadership rather than redefining her limits.
One of the greatest lessons she has learned is that obedience will often require courage before it produces clarity. She discovered that success is less about perfection and more about consistency — showing up, trusting God, and moving forward even when the outcome is not fully visible.
Another defining lesson? Community matters. Sanford attributes much of her growth to relationships, mentorship, and organizations like the Central Georgia Coalition of Black Businesses, whose investment in literacy, funding access, and small business development has helped expand her reach and impact.
What Sanford is most proud of, however, cannot be measured in revenue or recognition — it is the lives being transformed through her work. Whether mentoring women, advocating for youth mental health, gathering women in prayer through the Intercessor Circle, or developing housing solutions, her focus has always been legacy over visibility.
She wants the world to understand that her brands are not separate ventures — they are chapters of one larger story: a commitment to building stronger women, healthier families, and more empowered communities.
“I don’t just want to create successful businesses,” Sanford shares. “I want to create ecosystems where people can heal, grow, and lead.”
Looking ahead, her excitement is fueled by expansion — expanding opportunities for women, expanding resources for youth, and expanding the physical spaces that support community development. But above all, she is excited about continuing to walk boldly in her assignment.
If there is one thing she hopes people remember about her story, it is this:
Your beginning does not disqualify you from an extraordinary future. With faith, discipline, and the courage to keep going, you can transform any setback into a platform for impact.
For Keondra Sanford, business has never been just about profit — it has always been about purpose.
And her story is still being written.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend came to town, I’d turn the weekend into a purpose-filled experience centered around connection, community, and the You Are Wanted campaign.
We’d start with lunch at Churchill’s on Cherry, gathering downtown and sharing the heart behind why You Are Wanted exists. From there, we’d head to Pet Party Palace for a “my pet and me” date—because joy, companionship, and light moments are essential for mental wellness.
Next, we’d spend time at Mental Health Matters for a therapeutic cooking class, creating space for honest conversations around depression, anxiety, and self-harm in a way that feels safe and human. At each stop, I’d invite these local organizations to stand with us for a You Are Wanted photo moment, visibly uniting against teenage suicide.
We’d close the day at Bibb Mt. Zion Church, grounding everything in faith, hope, and purpose. For me, the best time ever isn’t just about where you go—it’s about who you stand with and the lives you choose to speak life into.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Keondra “Keke” Sanford is a woman whose life and leadership are anchored in faith, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to service. First and foremost, she gives all glory to God for His grace, mercy, and faithfulness — acknowledging that it is through Him she has endured seasons that tested both her strength and her purpose. From surviving a life-altering accident while pregnant to navigating a lupus diagnosis years later, Sanford has consistently transformed adversity into assignment, allowing her testimony to fuel the work she now does for others.
A devoted wife to her high school sweetheart for over 18 years — and a partner in more than two decades of love, growth, and commitment — Sanford often credits her husband as a steady source of strength who has stood beside her through every storm. Together, they have built a family rooted in faith, perseverance, and vision. As a mother of five daughters, including two she lovingly adopted, Sanford describes her children as her greatest motivation and the driving force behind her expanding legacy.
That legacy is evident across Middle Georgia, where Sanford has emerged as a transformational leader, entrepreneur, and advocate. She is the founder of Beatsbykeke LLC, a thriving beauty, health, and wellness brand with two Macon locations, where she has helped hundreds of women rediscover confidence through both inner healing and outward expression. A makeup artist, weight-loss coach, nutrition specialist, lash technician, and microblading professional, Sanford views beauty as more than aesthetics — she calls it “therapy,” a philosophy born from her own healing journey.
Her passion for empowering women led her to establish EmpowerHer Consulting, a platform dedicated to helping women transform their health, wealth, and personal narratives. Through coaching, business development, credit education, and lifestyle strategy, Sanford has positioned herself as what many call “the coach’s favorite coach,” guiding women toward sustainable success while emphasizing faith-centered leadership.
Yet perhaps one of her most heartfelt initiatives is the You Are Wanted Campaign, a suicide awareness and teen suicide prevention movement she co-leads with her daughter. Sparked by a deep burden for youth mental health, the campaign is both a message and a mission — reminding young people that their lives carry purpose and that they are seen, valued, and needed. Sanford’s work in this space reflects her broader calling as a children’s advocate and community builder determined to create safer emotional spaces for the next generation.
Beyond her work in beauty and consulting, Sanford is also stepping boldly into community development as a property developer through the Johnnie Appleseed Housing initiative, which focuses on providing affordable independent living solutions for vulnerable populations. Her vision is rooted in dignity — ensuring individuals have not just housing, but opportunity.
Sanford’s leadership extends into ministry and mentorship as well. Through the Intercessor Circle, she gathers women in prayer, spiritual growth, and accountability, reinforcing her belief that true transformation begins within. Whether teaching biblical principles, mentoring emerging entrepreneurs, or serving her local church community, she operates from a posture of purpose.
She remains deeply grateful to her family in Macon for their constant encouragement and belief in her vision — support she says keeps her grounded while expanding her capacity to serve others. Likewise, she credits the Central Georgia Coalition of Black Businesses for their leadership and investment in small Black-owned enterprises. Their dedication to business literacy, funding access, and economic development has played a meaningful role in strengthening her work and broadening her community impact.
Today, Keondra Sanford is more than a business owner — she is a legacy builder. Every initiative she launches, every woman she mentors, and every young life she reaches reflects her personal mission: to turn pain into purpose, faith into action, and vision into generational change.
