We had the good fortune of connecting with Keon Gibson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Keon, how do you think about risk?
Taking risks has always been an integral part of my journey, guiding me from the familiar paths of academia into the uncharted territories of entrepreneurship and creative expression. Growing up in Gary, Indiana, I learned early on the importance of resilience and determination in the face of adversity. It’s a city often overlooked, but it’s where I found the inspiration to challenge stereotypes and showcase the beauty and potential that lies within.

After earning my degree in meteorology from Jackson State University, I had a secure job offer waiting for me at NASA Stennis Space Center. It was a prestigious opportunity, but deep down, I knew that my true passion lay elsewhere. Despite the uncertainty and the potential risks, I followed my heart and pursued a career in social media marketing and content creation.

It was a leap of faith, but one that I knew I had to take. From the moment I picked up a camera in 2015, I discovered my love for visual storytelling, and I haven’t looked back since. Over the years, I’ve honed my skills in photography, videography, graphic design, and social media marketing, collaborating with over 200 clients, including renowned names like Kirk Franklin, Maverick City Music, and Kanye West.

As the founder and Lead Digital Media Specialist of The Creative Halo, I’ve had the opportunity to set new standards in the industry and create Grammy-winning/nominated campaigns that have earned acclaim. But beyond the accolades and achievements, what drives me is my unwavering commitment to authenticity, integrity, and excellence.

Taking risks isn’t just about chasing success; it’s about staying true to myself and my purpose. It’s about pushing boundaries, challenging stereotypes, and inspiring others to pursue their dreams relentlessly. And through it all, I remain grounded as a devoted husband, a person of faith, and an advocate for positive change.

My journey is a testament to the belief that no dream is too big to achieve, regardless of where you come from. The sky is never the limit when you dare to dream, take risks, and pursue your passions with unwavering determination.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My art is a reflection of my passion for visual storytelling and my dedication to pushing the boundaries of creativity. What sets me apart from others is not just my technical skills in photography, videography, and graphic design, but also my ability to infuse authenticity, emotion, and purpose into every project I undertake. Whether it’s capturing the raw energy of a live performance or crafting compelling narratives for social media campaigns, I strive to create content that resonates deeply with audiences and leaves a lasting impact.

What I’m most proud of and excited about is the opportunity to use my art as a platform for positive change and social impact. Through my work, I aim to challenge stereotypes, amplify marginalized voices, and inspire others to pursue their dreams relentlessly. From collaborating with Grammy-winning artists to partnering with local community organizations, every project I take on is an opportunity to make a difference and leave a meaningful legacy.

Getting to where I am today professionally has been anything but easy. It required a combination of talent, hard work, and perseverance, as well as a willingness to take risks and embrace uncertainty. I’ve faced countless challenges along the way, from navigating the competitive landscape of the creative industry to overcoming self-doubt and imposter syndrome. But through it all, I’ve learned to trust in my abilities, stay true to my vision, and never lose sight of my purpose.

One of the most important lessons I’ve learned is the power of resilience and adaptability. In an ever-evolving industry, success often requires the ability to pivot, innovate, and embrace change. By staying flexible and open-minded, I’ve been able to weather the storms and emerge stronger and more resilient than ever.

Ultimately, what I want the world to know about me and my brand is that we’re more than just creators; we’re catalysts for change. Through our work, we seek to inspire, educate, and empower others to pursue their passions, defy expectations, and make a positive impact on the world. Our story is one of courage, creativity, and unwavering determination, and we invite others to join us on this journey of discovery and transformation.
