We had the good fortune of connecting with Kenyada Harper and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kenyada, as a parent, what do you feel is the most meaningful thing you’ve done for them?
The most important thing I’ve done as a parent is to model faith in action. It’s about more than just teaching my children about Jesus or taking them to church—it’s about living out those values daily.
I strive to show love, patience, and grace in the way I interact with them and others, creating an environment where they feel safe, valued, and loved unconditionally. Prayer is central to our family life, and I try to instill in them the importance of relying on God in both joyful and challenging times.
Helping them develop a personal relationship with Christ, guiding them to trust in Him, and reinforcing that their worth comes from being children of God has had, I believe, the greatest impact on their lives. It’s my hope that as they grow, they’ll continue to lean on their faith as their foundation.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
As a mom, one of my favorite things is creating easy, kid-friendly meals that my family loves. I pack my husband’s lunch every day for work, making sure he’s fueled for his day, and I also prepare school lunches for my kids.
Creating content around what I’m feeding my family never crossed my mind until a video I made went viral. The video was simply me telling my kids that they were not going to eat us out of house and a home over the summer.
I received thousands of comments from moms who needed meal ideas. They wanted me to help them. I was shocked and certainly didn’t feel qualified. At that moment I feel like so many moms were depending on me to help them. I couldn’t let them down, so I picked up my phone and began recording.
I’m proud of this because it reflects the love and care I pour into my family each day. By preparing meals for my husband and children, I’m providing more than just nourishment—I’m creating moments of connection, and comfort. I’m dedication to their well-being and happiness, and I take pride in knowing that even something as simple as a meal can be an expression of my love. Plus, it’s a way I can contribute to their daily lives, helping them feel cared for and ready to take on the day!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Kay’s Dream Girlfriends Staycation
Day 1: Arrival & Glamorous Start
We’d check in at the Candler Hotel, I love this hotel because it’s so chic and for its southern elegance.
Afternoon
Once everyone has arrived we’d grab lunch at South City Kitchen(Midtown) I love their fried chicken and shrimp & grits, and it’s such a vibrant atmosphere.
I’ve booked all of us a pampering session at The Waldorf Astoria Spa for massages, facials, and champagne to start the weekend kid free and refreshed.
Evening
For dinner, we’re headed to Marcel in the Westside Provisions District. The steaks are chefs kiss, and I always get the oysters.
We’ll finish the evening at The Garden Room, their enchanting bar is the perfect place for cocktails, and the Instagram-worthy floral atmosphere is top tier.
The remainder of the week we are having brunch at The Sun Dial, visiting the Atlanta Botanical Gardens, shopping at Ponce City Market, scrolling the BeltLine’s Eastside Trail and grabbing coffee at Krog Street.
I love my city, and have so many favorites I wish I could name them all. Just know if we’re friends, our girls staycation would be unforgettable and we’d make so many memories.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
One of my favorite books is *Believe Bigger* by Marshawn Evans-Daniels. It truly transformed the way I believed in myself. The book helped me see that God has an even greater purpose for my life than I had imagined. It challenged me to step out of my comfort zone, trust in His plan, and embrace the idea that I am capable of so much more. It gave me the confidence to pursue my dreams and believe that, with God’s guidance, I can accomplish anything.
I’m also forever grateful for the incredible support my husband has shown me in all of my many endeavors. He’s been my biggest cheerleader, and I truly wouldn’t have come this far without him by my side. Above all, I owe everything to Jesus—His guidance, strength, and grace have been the foundation of everything I’ve accomplished. I’m beyond blessed to have both my husband’s unwavering support and the love of Christ leading the way.
