We had the good fortune of connecting with Kenyada Brown and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kenyada, how do you think about risk?
I feel that to be successful, especially when building your own creative business or brand taking risk is necessary. I was that person letting fear hold me back from my true creative calling but it took me going through my lowest of times to realize that being afraid to take that leap into this unpredictable world of business and creativity was holding me back beyond measure. Me not looking back and taking the risk of being a self starter saved my life.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Photography is my art, I love looking at the world through my camera lens. I am most proud of the time and effort that I continue to put in to challenging my creativity and producing great photos. I’ve come a long way from where I started when it comes to photography and I credit my journey to how consistent and determined I am to be the best at whatever I do. My professional photography journey has not been easy, you definitely have to stay consistent and act on your creative vision no matter the opinions of others. The biggest lesson that I have learned in photography is to never compare your work or progress to that of other professional photographers because with the art of photography everyone has their own creative vision and no two photographers are the same. I want the world to know that my story is a story of perseverance, I’ve overcome so much to become the creative I am today and there is no limit for me.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
There is so much to do in Atlanta, we would definitely check out the Ponce city market, go to Bar vegan and Skyline park. As far as restaurants We would have to visit Breakfast at Barneys for brunch and a nice dinner at Two Urban licks. For chill hangout spots we would visit one of the hookah lounges in Atlanta.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to recognize my mom and my brothers for their continued support and encouragement and a special thanks to my big brother Adrian, I wish he could see the ways he influenced the life I live today, he was a big influence on my mindset and he always pushed me to dream bigger and work harder. When I lost my brother, that was the hardest time in my life, so every accomplishment is a win for my entire family and thats why I work so hard.
