We had the good fortune of connecting with Kennedy & Sydney G. and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kennedy & Sydney G., we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The Her Brand started because we had a dream of empowering women through quality experiences and luxury products. However, we wanted to have a purpose behind our services. Women are at the base of creation and have an unlimited amount of power. We saw a need to speak to our generation and generations before us to encourage ourselves and other women to embody their highest selves and to understand how luxury products can enhance your everyday experiences. Her means accepting who you are becoming and appreciating where you are going. Her means discovering who “She” is and embracing the journey of growth and elevation. Her is not just a brand, but a way to speak to women and our process was started by these beliefs.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
We are proud of the purpose behind our brand, because it sets us apart from other apparel and accessory brands, there is a clear understanding of what we want our business to feel like and mean to others: empower and uplift. The journey has not been easy, but it has been worth it. For Sydney G., it was important to tap into my spiritual beliefs and how powerful the human mind is, and that it is an art within itself— learning how to trust yourself 100% so that you can be your most authentic self. For Kennedy, my passion for empowering others has always been the forefront of our vision. When you believe in yourself, no matter the circumstances, you become unstoppable and having that mindset will take you places. Creating a product that can speak to our beliefs and concept of being “Her,” without explanation has always been the goal. We are extremely proud that our vision has spoken through our brand and women are truly taping into their innate power.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Sydney G. – I would say I’m a foodie, so probably a couple restaurants and a thriller like indoor skydiving, brunch, park picnic, anything outdoors

Kennedy: I’m a morning person so starting off the days with a morning workout/walk. I do love being outside, spa days, anything self care related, shopping, and exploring the city. Definitely a few nice restaurants with a pretty views The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
HeartTalk by Cleo Wade was a huge inspiration for the feel behind our business. She talks a lot about the process of self discovery and how it can be really enjoyable. So we want for our followers to know that even if they feel that they are not in the best place you can always tap back to yourself to have a brighter ending. Also, our family and friends were a huge support. Without them we wouldn’t be here. And last but not least we want to recognize Beautycounter. Beautycounter is a business that created our entrepreneurial spirit and gave us the confidence and community that taught us that we could successfully do anything as long as we stay the course and believe in what we are doing.
