We had the good fortune of connecting with Kendrick Little and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kendrick, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I was always a creative at heart. Jack of many trades so to speak and always had passion for something greater than what I would call the regular 9-5 lifestyle. Where my career began as a photographer, I was thrust into a very crowded creative space. So of course you have to adapt quickly to set yourself apart from your peers. Started doing a few shoots for friends and different artists I knew at the time to get the name going and just kept at it from there always looking to perfect my craft or get better.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business is The BlackHause Entertainment & Experiences. We are an international travel, event and concierge service for travelers coming to Tulum. We set ourselves apart from other businesses simply from our personal service to each of our clients and our events. Each one of our guests can personally talk to either myself or my partner during or even before their trip to get our expert guidance on planning and preparation. We are very hands on with operations.

It definitely was not an easy road to get to where are are today, but of course everyone learns with time. After 2 years of successful business, I would say we have figured out our lane and the exact direction we want to go.

I would love for The BlackHause to be a household name when it comes to not just travel as a whole, but Black Travel in general. We are traveling more places around the world and everyone should have the opportunity for an amazing experience everywhere they travel. I want The BlackHause to be apart of that movement. Worldwide events, people you know and can trust in multiple places across the world to help you make your next trip an unforgettable experience.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Me and my friends know how to party and eat good food. I enjoy doing different types of excursions and things, as well. A bit of an adrenaline junky.

Friday, we are up and going for morning excursions. ATVs, Zip Lining high through the Jungle with 360 views! Taking the ATVs down thru the caves and ruins of Tulum through Cenotes and more jungle. After a wild morning, we go for dinner at a Tulum favorite, BAK Steakhouse. Amazing food, atmosphere even better. Dinner with a Mayan fire show is an unforgettable experience and I know everyone would enjoy it.

Saturday is definitely a beach day. Going to Beach Hause Saturday hosted by The BlackHause and Vibras Tulum, the only hip hop beach club in Tulum. Get a rooftop section, buy a couple of bottles, eat some good food and turn up on the beach with my friends.

Sunday, we do some shopping in the city where we will get a good local experience. Eat at a few different places around town, Don Cafeto, Burrito Amor, and of course the Taco Stands have the best food. .

Monday morning, after a jam packed weekend, we would head north to go take a ride with some camels. Yes, Mexico has camels. Me and my friends would enjoy a long ride down the beach on top of these majestic animals. After the camels, we would hit the ocean for some Jet Skis. Much needed action for a calm day!
