Meet Kendra Moore | Seamtress stylist creator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kendra Moore and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kendra, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I believe that I am a risk taker because Faith is evidence of things not seen. I started my business out of no where during a pandemic and had no experience in handling a business or sewing! When the pandemic hit I was working as an office manager for a local doctor. I stopped working because I couldn’t risk getting my son sick. I had a household to take care of and my son but I just had faith that God would provide. I prayed and asked God what I should do with all this free time! He said buy a sewing machine. I was in shock because I don’t know anyone that sews or have any experience with it but I did it! I used my my last check on that sewing machine! When the machine arrived I read the instructions front to back and started to play with it a little. At the time everyone in the world was struggling to find masks so I drew out my own pattern and made my son a mask with some material batman material I removed from some pajamas! Once I posted it on Facebook it spread like wildfire. I was making masks for the masses. I sent masks all over the world and it sustained my household. Once things slowed down with the masks I said there has to be more to this , I began attempting to make clothing. My first outfit was made out of a big t shirt i transformed it in into a 2 piece outfit! Then with practice I became better and better. The best part about this is that I know this is God given talent because I make my own patterns. I have been a risk taker all my life but this risk definitely has a huge reward.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What keeps me busy professionally is sewing creative pieces. I also do embroidery. I do vinyl & sublimation. I do a lot of branding for other businesses by making there merchandise. I’ve made items from children’s clothing to male stacked jeans to womens blanket pants. I love trying new techniques and working with new materials. I specialize in evening gowns & prom dresses. I love to create and make peoples visions come to life.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I stay in Columbus Ga in all honesty there isn’t much to do but we would definitely go to Plucked up chicken and biscuits for brunch, walk the river walk/down town area, go to the strip mall to do a little shopping, eat lunch at juicy crab which is her favorite, hang out later that night at the Suite lounge, they have amazing food too

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Recognition belongs to God first and foremost. He is the one that provided me with the gift. Secondly recognition goes to my children Caleb (11) & Truely (5 months). These two are the motivation I needed to push me into next level. KenMadeIt will be their legacy, their inheritance.
