We had the good fortune of connecting with Kendel White and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kendel, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process of starting my business was: first, ” to not over think, simply Execute. In detail, I needed to secure my personal finances and credit, and create a business structure and system of meeting my customer demands.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My ART! Well, Drawing is like taking notes. I sketch what I hear and feel & draw what I envision. Every line, mark, and stroke is empowered by a higher feeling or spirit of passion. This fiery passion has been with me since I was a child. I incorporate this feeling with various mediums, grids, photography, illustrations, and designs to complete projects and works of art. Detail and Space are intriguing elements in my creative process. It helps define my works of art & projects. My style is influenced but not limited to the 80’s pop culture. Music, Art, Television, Magazines, Fashion, Comic Books, Politics, my Community, Film, News, Sports, and History are all subject matters of my influences. I’m most proud and excited about my progress in my Art and Personal Life. At times, It seems surreal on where I’ve been and where I’m at now. I believed I arrive here, professionally, with my word, my follow through and execution and consistency. I don’t believe it was “easy”. It was my choice and along with “Passion, Persistence and Patience”, which assisted me to overcome my challenges. My lesson in Life is: if I wake up with Sun, then there is a chance to Continue on. I would want the world know that I love Art, simple! Smile!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If they arrive at night, I would drive them around the city of Atlanta so that they can watch the beautiful scenes in Atlanta. Atlanta is Beautiful at night. We would wake up and eat breakfast at The Pancake House, Play chess at Woodruff Park, visit my Art Studio, get some Smoothies and eat some delicious Salmon at Lure or Two Urban licks and walk the Atlanta Beltline and visit the East Ponce City Market. I also would get a massage at JeJu Sauna. Its amazing.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My shoutout to my success and where I’m at in Life at this moment is dedicated to all of my family members that supported my Passion of Arts and Creativity, since the 1st grade. My church Elizabeth Baptist Church,(Tuscaloosa, AL), My schools I attended, The Atlanta College of Art and Art Institute of Atlanta. All of my dedicated business associates, friends and colleagues. I really appreciate their belief and support. I’m forever humbled and grateful to have encountered everyone along my path/journey of Passion of Art and Creativity.
