Meet Kenarri | Artist, Rapper, Singer, & Songwriter

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kenarri and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kenarri, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I’m from the Southside of Atlanta Ga and went to Westlake High School. There are so many young creatives that came out of my high school alone, being in that network allowed me to expand my creative abilities in a realm with people I trust. The part of Atlanta I’m from is suburban so I have bougie tendencies but the core of who I am is remaining down to earth.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
As a straight woman, I’m 100% in tune with both my masculinity and femininity allowing for a unisex listening experience. My music can help men embrace their femininity while helping woman embrace their masculine side.
I’m nowhere near where I would want to be professionally, but it still took months of self-discipline and mental prep to be confident enough to stand behind my work. I used to fear “not doing it right” but affirmations have gotten me almost completely past that fear.
The way you overcome challenges is by pushing forward at every step. My last project titled “The Only Way Out Is Through EP” was inspired by this concept. The only way out of the wormhole is to go through it and to accept the losses and gains and charge them to the game. What more can you do?
There are no such things as accidents. Coincidences are non-existent. If you are in a position it is because you are supposed to be there and if something happens to you it was supposed to happen.
Music is more than just sounds. It’s spiritual. I intend to prove that point further, by connecting with every listener in a spiritual domain: Inspiring, lifting, and guiding, people to their divine purpose in life through music.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Some places I would make sure to take them to in Atlanta , is my favorite Jamaican spot Scotch Bonnet on Campbellton Rd and Little 5 Points.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Producer Kennystuntin sold me my first beats and got me interested in making music in the first place by seeing his work in this industry.
