We had the good fortune of connecting with Kemuel Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kemuel, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Although it may sound cliché, I’ve always had a passion for fashion from an early age. Once I had the financial means to launch my own brand, I jumped headfirst at the opportunity to do it.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am currently working as a grad assistant at Jacksonville State university. I already had 3 years of experience from working in the department during my undergraduate studies so it was truly a natural transition. I believe that there are a number of things that I have taken away from my professional career; a few of them would be patience, passion, and consistency.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
In all honesty, I am probably the worst person to contact about hanging out because I only leave my house to go to work or to the gym. But if I was to be put on the spot, I would tell them that we should go to Pappadeux (barring any seafood allergies).

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would definitely say that my family has been a huge part of my sucess. My mom was the one that paid for my first photoshoot and even showed up to watch. Any time I have an expo or a pop up shop, they are always present. They are a great support system.
