Meet Kemberly Deane | Owner of Kinfolk Pilates & Pilates Trainer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kemberly Deane and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kemberly, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Starting a business in a new city, as a New York native with three kids under four, was the biggest risk I’ve ever taken. But I’ve learned that risk is unavoidable in entrepreneurship—it’s tied to every decision we make. For me, taking risks is deeply rooted in faith, trusting that God will match my efforts when I step out in belief. I ask myself daily, ‘How have I overcome fear today?’ and the answer always lies in focusing on my goals. My drive consistently outweighs my fears, and taking that leap showed me what’s possible when you trust yourself and the process.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Kemberly Deane is the founder and owner of Kinfolk Pilates, Atlanta’s first bespoke luxury private Pilates studio. Certified through Balanced Body, Kemberly specializes in training professional athletes and modern professionals, focusing on injury prevention and peak performance. With a commitment to mindful movement and community connection, she continues to redefine wellness in a private, elevated setting. What sets us apart is our intentional approach—our studio isn’t just a space for workouts; it’s a carefully curated experience that feels personal, private, and far removed from the transactional vibe of larger, commercial studios.
Getting to where we are today wasn’t easy. Starting a business in a new city with three kids under four came with its fair share of challenges, but I leaned into my faith, trusted the process, and remained focused on the vision. I’ve learned that resilience, community, and staying true to your values are key to overcoming obstacles.
I want the world to know that Kinfolk Pilates isn’t just a studio—it’s a sanctuary for mindful movement and connection. Our story is rooted in providing a space where clients feel supported, seen, and inspired to achieve their personal wellness goals in a way that’s deeply intentional and beautifully curated.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were visiting, I’d plan a week filled with wellness, great food, and good vibes! We’d start our mornings with a Pilates session at Kinfolk Pilates to get centered and energized. Afterward, we’d stop by Soleil Hydration & Spa for B12 vitamin shots or IV hydration to keep us feeling our best.
For lunch, Flower Child is a must for its fresh and healthy options, followed by a walk along the Beltline to take in the city’s energy and scenery. In the evenings, we’d mix it up—dinner and drinks at The Battery in Smyrna for a lively atmosphere or a more intimate vibe on the patio at Little Alley’s Steakhouse or Yebo, which always feels like a mini escape.
Atlanta has so many gems, but this mix of wellness, great food, and exploring the city’s hotspots would make for the perfect itinerary!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d love to dedicate my shoutout to Jenna Howell, the owner of Contour Pilates. Jenna has been an incredible mentor and resource throughout my Pilates journey. Her studio has been instrumental in elevating my personal practice, offering high-quality movement instruction from top-notch instructors. Beyond that, Jenna has personally guided me from an instructor standpoint, helping me refine my skills, and now as a fellow studio owner. Her support and encouragement have been invaluable, and I’m deeply grateful for the role she’s played in my story.
