We had the good fortune of connecting with Kelvin McTyre and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kelvin, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thoughts were, if I wanted to elevate in life and go after things I wanted. I definitely need to be my own boss. Having just a job, you can only go so far in life and only make so much money, it’s a cap on that. Being an entrepreneur, the sky is the limit, you will go as far as your consistently, dedication, intelligence, networking and hard work takes you. The ultimate goal is financial freedom. I don’t want to have to worry about someone cutting my hours or getting laid off due to pandemics as such COVID.

What should our readers know about your business?
I’m a serial pallet flipper. I purchase wholesale products from wholesalers and liquidators. I sell brands such as Clorox, Scott, Cottonelle, Dove, and many more. My consistency, eagerness, and dedication to my craft sets me apart from others. You may see someone selling what I’m selling once, but you’ll always see me everyday, if it’s on Google, social media, or even doing local deliveries, I’m always active in the community. I’m very proud of my growth, because before starting my own business, I didn’t talk very much but now I’m talkative if it’s the right conversation. Creating a brand/ business was probably the best thing I’ve ever done. It’s opening doors for the future. Getting to where I am today was not easy, it was very challenging, but only the strong survive, I want to give a special shout out to my customers, most them treat me like family, so they spread the word to other family members and friends, it’s ongoing cycle with them. I wouldn’t trade them for nothing. Number 1 lesson I have learned is not to never short yourself, don’t change your prices to satisfy someone else, you can hurt yourself and business in the long run. I want the world to know I’m a very intelligent/ hardworking businessman. I never took the easy route and always waited my turn for success.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We would most definitely have to go to Cheesecake Factory, that’s of my favorite restaurant that doesn’t cost much. If we talk high end maybe Houston’s or Ruth Chris. Other places you can’t go wrong with. I’ll make a list: skyline park, Andretti’s main event, magic city, KOD, Fin & Feathers and top golf Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
