We had the good fortune of connecting with Kelli Jenay or K and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kelli Jenay or K, what do you attribute your success to?
I believe the most important factor or factors are mental health and purpose. Those two play a major part in why I am, where I am now. I’m starting over, but I’m more driven, resilient and ready than I ever was.

In August of 2023, I rebranded my business from “A Taste of Phila” doing videography and interviews, to “Snapped” where I mainly provide photography and content creation services. Why? Because I started this business for fun, then I started making money, and it gotten to a point where it was serving me anymore and I was doing it JUST for money. I was damn near crying everytime I had to edit a video lol.

I had to make a change. I was on and off with my business. Once I started to take care of myself, making sure that I don’t over work myself, my mental, actually getting to know myself and my purpose.

I knew that my purpose was to serve and assist. And then I started to think about what I actually felt good doing. And that was taking pictures, making ppl feel and look good, and make content. I woke up one day and literally said “Oh Snap” lol and it was up from there. It took me two weeks to rebrand, once I did my roll out I book 2 shoots/events.. then 2 more.. then another.. and another..and well you get it.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
OhkSnapped provides photography and content creation services. I believe my attitude and personality sets me a part. There are so many people who do what I do, but not how I do it.

This journey was not easy. I overcame myself and my doubts.

I learned to love yourself and what you do. And if you start to not like yourself or what you do.. CHANGE IT. Change can be scary but it’s also needed and can in turn be the best thing that you do.

I just Want people to know that I’m here and ready to work.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
1. We’ll go to Mei Mei from brunch, and then later go to other world.

2. Have a day in. Wine and movies. Order some door dash.

3. Go to All You Can Sing @ Noto Philly

4. Go to framed for dinner and upstairs to the club

5. Surprise her with make up from @sadejennine and a photoshoot somewhere so she can feel good and I can get some content lol

6/7 chill and reminisce and cry because they’re about to leave lol
